No better way to take in the sights & sounds of
Oregon's PNW than in the Piper Cub from A2A Simulations.

Fine shots all, but I cringe everytime I see that crooked name plate.  You'd think with all the other fussy stuff they offer in 'Accusim', they'd have fixed that.

Impressively detailed model.. love the retaining pins on the nose.

But  Shocked  Shocked were the wheels really that big on the real thing???

Oh, and sorry to sound dumb, but what's PNW? I keep seeing it around these forums.

These look like Tundra tires:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tundra_tire

PNW stands for Pacific Northwest, a new (stunning) addon from FTX.
Check out their site: http://fullterrain.com/

Beautiful shots there, amazing scenery.

Thanks! Yes, those would be the Tundra Tires. When I fly the Cub it is usually this model... that way I can land wherever I want!  Wink

and yes... The PNW (Pacific North West) scenery add on is amazing.  Shocked

The standard J3 had 4" diameter wheels and the original powerplant didn't allow for much tire weight.  Those tundra tires are quite heavy so that would call for more horsepower then there's the CG problem (back seat solo) that would be aggravated.

Nice shots Dave, of one of my all time favorite little aircraft. Check out this web page https://www.fiddlersgreen.net/models/Aircraft/Piper-Cub.html that I came across if you are interested in the history of the Cub. Nice read.  Smiley
