ok guys...

I got Steve Hinsons F14d Rev3 http://www.simviation.com/fs2004military126.htm Near the bottom of the page.

When you fly past Mach1, it is supposed to show the Mach envelope and play the 'BOOM' sound.

... SonicBoomControl IS inside Guages/RCBMiljet  .. so I know that is in the right place.

SonicBoom.wav IS inside FS9/SOUND/COP   (and when I double click on the .wav for it, Windows Media Player opens and will play it so I know there is nothing wrong with the .wav file itself...)

gauge46=rcb-miljet!SonicBoomControl,  0,0,20,20  -- is inside the Panel.cfg ..

Gaugesound.dll IS in fs9 main folder.....

Everything is where it is supposed to be, but for whatever reason it will not play the BOOM when going past mach1.   It will show the Mach envelope when going past mach1, but just wont play the sound.

any ideas of things I need to look into? try to fix??

This is an interesting one.  I have the same set for the F-14 and it works fine.  The set up looks as it does in your post.

I've also installed the same effect in an F-18 with everything working - effect and boom.

However, I tried to install it into Kazunori Ito's F-15 and can only get the effect working ... no boom!

I've experimented with the position of the 'gauge46.......' line in the panel config, moving it up and down, and found that this could make a difference.  Maybe this could be a starting point?

Even so I'd like to hear what the experts say to see whether I can get the boom back on my F-15.

Watching the replies on this one with interest.

Alex.
