I'm experimenting with color curves and background blur, but not in the same shot. Your thoughts appreciated.
Color Curve adjustment - I have reservations about the lighted edges showing the jaggies.
Color Curve adjustment - This one looks almost like bloom to me.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

It is looking great Larry!
The colour curve adjustment - a bit too blue? maybe apply a filter or so?
The motion blur - It is looking good, but taken the direction in wich the aircraft is moving, will there be still motion blur? Its a question, not a statement. I've always applied that to shots taken from the side, but not from the angle you did.
Always nice to play and get comments! A nice set of shots!
Enjoy!

Thanks Jakes.
As to the angle, I don't really know. I think it depends on the speed and camera settings. I just don't know enough about photography.
I was just looking for ways to enhance my edits more and found the color curve settings that I know absolutely nothing about, but thought I would give it a try. Check out my JC entry; it's color curve, highlight/midtone/shadow, and sharpen. I'm a bit biased
, but I love the sky.

I agree with Jakes on the motion blur. Any blur will also depend on the distance of the background from the moving subject & the angle from which the subject is viewed. If the subject is coming towards you the background would be more likely to be out of focus rather than blurred which it actually appears in your shot.

Wonderful shots Larry...
Afraid I don't know enough about photography and editing to make knowledgeable comments.
If I like a shot I will tell that person I like it and if I have any additional information on the aircraft I will usually add it.

This is good, forcing me to look at other choices besides 'Open-Crop-Resize-Sharpen-Save as'. Whatever you did with that sun in number one is definitely good.
