FSX locked up after I changed some setting to experiment with quality vs performance.
Now after try to completely re-install, it locks after trying to run.  Install went fine, but it locks on the FSX startup screen.

Running quad core HP (new!), HP monitors, and triple head to go box, with NVidia card.
Everything worked well, now nothing.

2 (install) attempts later, I'm stumped.

suggestions?

Thanks.

You need to give more info about specs etc.

Is it a HP OEM?

Have you tried deleting FSX.cfg?

I have only tried to re-install.

The frustrating thing is, I spent a great deal of time trying to set up everything well, and it did work for a few weeks, but honestly, I noticed no difference adding the nvidia card.  The nvidia control panel says the card passes all tests, but the program didn't look any better.

I installed it, because all the forums said that was what was needed, but wtf?.  I have about $3000 invested in fsx and the damn thing doesn't even fire up now.

If you didn't remove FSX.cfg before reinstalling FSX it's still using your old settings. It wouldn't do any harm to delete it now as a new CFG will be written when you fire up FSX for the first time. This will return all your settings to default. You could rename it to something like FSX.bak if you wish to keep your tweaks.

It's an old trick that very often fixes all manner of problems. Please tell me if it worked. Good Luck!
