Hey folks! I was thinking about making this upgrade. Does anyone have any experience with a 15,000 RPM hard drive? Would this help the performance for FSX? What about cooling issues?

System:
Gateway FX6800-01E
Intel i7 920 @ 2.67 GHz
Drive 1 750Gs 7,200 RPM (Main/OS)
Drive 2 300Gs 7,200 RPM (FS 9 & FSX)
3Gs Memory
Vista Home Premium 64b SP2
750 Watt PSU

Thanks,

Dave

15,000 rpm drives have significantly less capacity than 10,000 rpm drives, while being very expensive. And to top it off, you need a special expensive controller card to run them. Go grab a 300gb Raptor or a SSD, IMO. If I recall correctly, they will not make FSX run faster, but will decrease loading times and stutters.

Yea I would go SSD too, no moving parts and great speed.

Cheers
