The Core i5 750 along with the Phenom II 965 are the best value processors you can get. Very fast. Great price. The i5 in particular, is very efficient (little heat, overclocks extremely well). That being said, as always, it won't be as fast as a Core i7 950 (or similar) more expensive processor. Should run FSX and Battlefield Bad Company 2 very well. Also, I only know of pricing in Australia & The United States, I don't know if 450 pounds is a good deal.

I have the Battlefield Bad Company 2 BETA. And with my 8800GT overclocked (aka 9800GT, a fair bit (but not massively) faster  than 9600GT), it runs fine on medium settings at 1920*1080. Looks stunning. I have a Q6600 overclocked to 3.0ghz (QX6850 spec) which is not significantly slower than the Core i5 750 @ stock.

...
(CPU @ 65%, MEMORY @ 1.25gb) (yes the game is at 1920*1080... I have two screens)

i.e. 8800GT is the bottleneck on my system. Given the 9600GT is slower than 8800GT, and Core i5 750 is faster than QX6850... the 9600GT will clearly be the bottleneck on your PC, as opposed to the Core i5 750. I'm guessing you'll be able to run on medium-low settings because of the 9600GT while at 1920x1080, which would look great. Medium to high settings on lower resolutions which should look stunning. Probably maxed out on a faster videocard (still on the Core i5 750 @ stock speeds), even at high resolutions which should look amazing. That is my opinion only, of course. I haven't tested it.

Also, if you want upgradeability for your videocard, you're better off getting a power-supply that has two six-pin PCI-E connectors, preferably one six-pin PCI-E connector, and one 6+2 pin PCI-E connector. 550 watt PSU PROBABLY (but might not) has that thus probably is sufficient for a really high-end power-hungry videocard. Lastly, as always, power (aka wattage) doesn't tell us how good the PSU is in reality. It's only one part of the equation.

Benchmarks for Battlefield Bad Company 2 are here: http://www.nvnews.net/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=2691b09cd705a77932876ad31b43c2d... (for some odd reason they added 8x anti-aliasing, and 16x anisotropic, with maxed out settings).

I'm guessing that with the Core i5 750, the 9600GT will be the bottleneck, so the results should be similar to the link above.

If you don't understand anything I have said just tell me and I will explain it in simpler words

Yer it does make sense:) really that it would be good but another part of my system is letting me down....the GPU

its something i would have to work around but it would still be an improvement to what i have now though Smiley

Ironically this is like the same system I have going up soon. I already have my 9600GT and Antec BP550... I plan on the Core i5 soon, but I'm gonna get the ASRock P55 Extreme mobo.
