If you can put the following when you post the tour please:
"As you may have noticed, I do not have addon scenery recommendations for this route. I have noted the fact that the majority of users that I am aware of that fly these tours are not interested in addon scenery for these trips, so I will not go through the effort. If you are interested in using freeware addon scenery with this trip, private message me and I will assist you in finding the best stuff available. I can no longer guarantee that there is custom scenery for
every
airport on this tour, but there definitely are a few destinations here that are supported.
I hope you have enjoyed both the north and south island tours of New Zealand that I have created!
If you are interested in providing comments or criticism on these routes, feel free to contact me. If you have serious suggestions for future tours, I encourage you to post them in the multiplayer forum area, or consult with tour uploader and hoplist technician ShaneG. If you want, you can talk to me about it too, but Shane is the one who actually uploads the hoplist to the multiplayer server and does the official announcements.
Have fun,
-SeanTK"
Thanks for doing the grunt work with getting them on the server, Shane!

This one was a lot of fun to create!
Note to anybody who flies this.
If you use the mesh and and addon airports, I would suggest loading up the airport to take a peek at it before you do the actual flight. I think there might be a few airports that need the following adjustment:
Copy the AFCAD file from the airport's scenery folder into the scenery/world/scenery folder.
You will then have 2 AFCADs, one present in the addon scenery area with the actual airport's folder entry, and another exact same one in the world/scenery folder.
That seems to resolve some issues of the problem airports sitting on the mesh.
I am pretty sure Dannevirk, Whakatane, and Opotiki needs this, but I am unsure of some of the other smaller ones. I know Wellington, Auckland, Tauranga, and Hamilton do not need the fix.
Easy, quick fix resulting in much more enjoyable arrivals and departures.
I cannot emphasize enough my recommendation for the use of at least the
VOZ North textures
, along with the
landclass
and
mesh
. If you want to limit your addon consumption,
at least get those three
. It makes an enormous difference when flying in New Zealand, and looks quite impressive.
The addon airports are all very good quality, and most use custom objects to accurately depict the fields. My personal favorites include Wellington, Napier, Taupo, and payware Rotorua & Tauranga.

This tour is designed around FS2004, due to the availability of many custom addons for the country of New Zealand, and the distinct lack of good addons for this region that work with the FSX platform.
The mesh, landclass, and
possibly
a few airports may work in FSX, but once again, this is unsupported.
Regarding the "textures" specifically, I believe you are referencing my recommendation for VOZ "North". Unfortunately, this freeware addon does not work with FSX to the best of my knowledge.
I understand that the nature of this tour may alienate some that are stuck with FSX, but I wanted to try to make this tour as realistic as possible, and unfortunately, that desire can only be accomplished with the abundance of FS2004 New Zealand items at this time.
I know that there are some elements of FSX that are outstanding, but I have realized that outside of parts of the US, Australia, and some western European countries, FS2004 is the way to go until the addon community catches up in the coming years.
It never hurts to have both sims on your system!

with 5 hops left in the tour... whats going to be next??? hehe?? I tend to do about 7-9 hops at a time. Right now Im sitting at NZTG giving my variety of planes a much needed rest.
Planes I fly tonight.. Beech D18S amphib, F14, P51, Beech C-45G.
Nice area, but I should have gotten the downloads. Oh well, better FPS without them.
I'll be waiting on the Waikato Carrier at the end for the next trip.

Next tour will be on the South Island of New Zealand. I just need to:
1. Remember to create it for Shane.
2. Find time in my schedule to create it.
After this, I have no idea where the next one would be, although I have a few ideas of my own for possible consideration in the future.

if i might throw a few suggestions...
Papua New Guinea, China, Indonesia.
somewhere that just the general pilot might not ever really think about heading to.

Thanks for the suggestions!
I was considering the following after the South Island of NZ:
-Philippines
-Northern Europe/Scandinavia (would basically ring around the coast beginning with northern Netherlands and gradually wrapping around the waterway eastward before heading back to the southern coast of Norway.)
-Mediterranean (coastal circuit covering the area around the Mediterranean)
-Alaska (with significant portion of it in the Aleutian islands)
-Coast of South America (coastal flight covering the edge of the entire continent)
-Black Sea tour (coastal covering many towns around the Black Sea)
I am trying to pick spots with a variety of scenery attributes that are noticable on a default installation. If I create future tours I will NOT be going through the trouble of suggesting addon scenery for the tour, since no-one seems to use it, and I felt like I wasted the effort.
Luckily the current New Zealand series still lends itself well to default installations, but it was mainly produced around freeware addon scenery availability. I will not be basing future tours on that now.
For any future tours created by me, if you want addon scenery recommendations, just PM me. This policy will be in place beginning with the upcoming New Zealand South Island tour.
UPDATE: I just sent my hoplist for the south island to Shane, so hopefully we can expect it on the forums in the coming days. Have fun.

We've done that Tour courtesy of Shane, a while ago, covering the whole Coast, Sean..

I didn't install all the Scenery for the NZ North Island because my add-on Library is already overloaded with all my Scenery for California...
...but I did install the Scenery Mesh and Land Class for the NZ North Island Tour, which was handy, (in addition to my VOZ and FS Global)...

Ah, thanks Paul. I suspected we did that a while ago, but could not remember for sure!
It's understandable that some won't install the scenery. I'm just making it known that I'm not bothering with it unless someone wants it.
The task continues to find locations that look great in the default world.

I'm liking the Alaska idea.
So many different addons available for both sims, and even the default country side looks good up there, and even better when just a simple mesh is added in.
We've had some great multiplayer flights up there in the past.

But Paul, you always use clear and sunny weather anyway!
The real world weather conditions up there would definately be interesting during a tour.
It seems like there is actually substantial interest in an AK trip, so I suppose I'll start generating one sometime within the next week.

If nothing else, Paul could give us lessons on the proper usage of carb heat.
I never paid attention to it until he pointed it out, and now I find my self fiddling with it at times.
A warm carb is a happy carb.
Alaska for the win.
