Take care of those disks. You're not likely to get a second chance to replace them if you damage them. I am so worried about losing my copy, I bought two back-up sets. Got 'em both still in the shrinkwrap and in the safety deposit box at the bank. I sleep fairly well at night knowing my beloved FS9 copes are safe...

there is a controversial FS9.NOCD.EXE that is on the web, i cant remember where at the moment, but it is my suggestion that once you install the program,

download the 9.1 patch :: http://www.microsoft.com/downloadS/details.aspx?FamilyID=92cf4b8c-ea69-476b-a276...

then go look for the NO CD .exe file and use that instead of using DISK 4 all the time.  Put disk 4 back in the sleeve and put it somewhere safe away from kids.  (Treat Disk 4 as though it is worth $100 Billion!! )

Bah, it's only controversial due to the different meanings attached to such type files.  For the shameless (and perhaps, legit) FS9 owners, they are must-haves for they are darn right convenient and as mentioned, gives justices to your disc numero 4 Smiley

Cheers,
RB

...LOL... Grin....!

I am sorely tempted to get myself another backup copy of FS 2004 whilst they are still available, 'cos I cant see me spending loads of money upgrading/rebuilding my computer, sufficient to run my copy of FSX to my satisfaction, any time in the near future!...Wink...!

I can run both Sims, but FS 2004 always gives me the most satisfaction at the end of the day....

If you have a new set of FS9 disks, you may not need the 9.1 patch, it will likely be version 9.1 already. As far as the other "controversial" thing goes, while the forum rules prevent me from recommending it, if you decide to go that route, there are two versions available. (9.0, and 9.1) Make sure you get the right one.

Specs: Asus Crosshair nForce 590 SLI,
AMD Athlon X2 6400+ w/ZeroTherm BTF90,
4GB G.Skill PI Series DDR2-800,
Sapphire HD4870 512MB,
PC P&C 750 Quad, in a CoolerMaster HAF932

I'm going to get FS9, but just to stockpile it on the off chance that I'll someday have a computer good enough to run it... and that's going to be a while. For now, I'll have to stick with FS8...

Dell Inspiron 9200
1.8G Pentium M
1Gb Ram
100 Gb on Hard Drives

what kind of video card do you have?? because of what you have already listed, you can run it now.  It may not be as crisp and clean as FSX DEMO, but you can fly it.

youre fine, you can run it.

99% of most computers that are out, as long as they were made after 2002 can handle FS9.  the newer the better, yes. but basically, if your computer was made after 2002, then you can fly 2004
