Skyraider Texture Fix (Read 342 times)

Been getting mail about the texture conflict on all three of my Skyraiders (AD-2, AD-6 and A-1E). Undecided

So I've slaved away to correct the problem and have just uploaded new MDL files that eliminate the polygon/texture conflict on the fuselage just aft of the cockpit, and minimize (could not totally eliminate) the seam visibility in that area. Smiley

Thanks for the encouragement, but I took a step forward and a step back. In correcting the fuselage texture issue, I've created another issue with the horizontal tail plane. Embarrassed

This means there will have to be a VER. 3.0 of these MDL files.

In the first set of MDL file upgrades for my Skyraiders, we were able to fix a texture anamoly in the fuselage of all three aircraft (AD-2, AD-6 and A-1H). HOWEVER, the new AD-6 and A-1H MDLs (for reasons unknown) developed a problem with the horizontal stab textures. ONLY the TR_AD-6 and TR_A-1H MDLs are effected.

A new download uploaded today (available tomorrow) contains new TR_AD-6 and TR_A-1H MDL files that correct the stab texture problem, as well as the fuselage issue.

My regrets for the inconvenience, but the road to improvement is filled with potholes. Cheesy

I've now uploaded a final (the 3rd) upgrade set of MDLs for the Skyraider series. Only this last package, TR_AD_MDLs_3.zip, is needed to have the completely upgraded plane in all three versions. The previous downloads, TR_AD_MDLs.zip and TR_AD_MDLs_2.zip are now irrelevant.

In short, ignore the downloads under the posts titled New TR Skyraider MDLs and TR_AD-6 & A-1H MDL Update. Kiss

I know it's a pain, but the potholes are deep on the road to perfection. Roll Eyes
