My Schoolboy Film Star crush has just died at the age of 80.
I always remembered her best for her part in the original version of the Film "The Blue Lagoon" which I watched at the Cinema in 1949.....

Yeah, Jean Simmons. Sad, but 80. Remember her opposite Kirk Douglas in Spartacus. Nice looking allright.
Friend of mine who used to live in L.A. once lived in an apartment previously occupied by Ms. Simmons, so he said. Hmm, I gotta ask him about that. He's not one to make things up, so I now wonder how he knew that.
R.I.P. Jean.
I've not seen this on the news yet, so thanks for that.

She was only 3-4 years older than me when I first saw her in the Cinema (The Blue Lagoon) in 1949, I was 15, she was 18, so I've remembered her all my life!
Very sad to see her go.
A typical English Beauty, with a perfect English accent, living in Santa Monica.

When I crossed the pond, back in '53, one of the on-board movies was "Young Bess" starring Jean, husband Stewart Granger and another beauty, Deborah Kerr. Great actors - all.
