I have a few newbie questions if one of you fine gentlemen would care to me out on this. I have both FSX Deluxe, Acceleration pack. And also Ultimate Terrain X, Flight Environment X and Ground Environment X.

What would be the best sequence to install the add on pack?
Also about the default flight. Is that the fly now option with the ultra light when you first start the sim and you just click fly now then close and reboot?

Thanks

First of all, before any other add ons, install the Acceleration Pack.

And read these very useful guides. http://205.252.250.26/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1197380641

as for the default flight, you can pick what airplane/helo (craft) you want to be in, airport, weather, time of day and such, then click on SAVE FLIGHT.

SAVE AS "UI GENERATED - DEFAULT" this should save it as your default flight and not the Ultralight flying over Friday Harbour.

does it matter in what order they should be installed?

and by clicking on fly now with the Ultralight flying over Friday Harbour the way to boot into the default flight?

The ultra lite is actually the default flight. Fire up the sim and go to the fly now screen with the ultra lite. Now click on change aircraft and change to your favorite, then you change whatever else such as airport. Pick an airport and parking position or a runway.  Click on the save button. Now give give it any name you wish.  As Cap. Prop said click on  the make this my default flight box near the bottom left of the window.

I would like to thank the guys that responded to my post. Loading up to my personal default flight will be helpful.  THANKS

Can anyone help me on these questions?
I now no that the default flight is the ultra light and I was doing it right as Nick said to do after each update. To boot into the default flight then log out and re-boot the computer.
Now as far as the add-ons go. Does it matter in what order I need to install them in? Here are the add-ons I have.

Ultimate Terrain X
Flight Environment X
Ground Environment X

Can these be installed in any order?

Thanks

Here is how I recently did it:

Install Ultimate Terrain USA...then patched it, one patch at a time.  In between each patch, I was careful to reboot the sim so that the terrain databases would rebuild

Install Ultimate Terrain Canada...then patched it.  Same as above

Install UT Eurupe, patch, reboot, etc.

If you are running Acceleration, run the little patches they have for that.

Then install GE USCANALASKA, and patch it up to 1.08.  Install the textures into FSX

install GE Europe and patch it.  Install the textures and don't run GE USCANALASKA again.

GEX and FEX can be installed whenever actually, since they are just a repository of textures, but that is how I did it.  It made sense to lay down the land class before the textures to me.
