NASCAR fans rejoice , the wing is going away!!
@ C: Since Indy & F1 use faster cars, also plastered with sponsor decals, I have to disagree, it's the world's 3rd fastest commercial.
You haven't watched an indycar race recently have you? lol, not too many sponsors have the money to plaster anything anywhere
Sadly, I have noticed.
Just as the racing is getting good again, the economy tanks, & sponsers bail.
What would happen to racing today , if all the sponsors left?

It cost way to much money to field a Cup car without sponsers. Racing would continue, but nowhere on the scale that it is now.

It could go back to what it was when us old-timers loved it..
STOCK
car racing..
Aside from from some intake/exhuast modifications, and race-sturdy transmissions and rear-ends.. they were pretty much the same car you could go buy on Monday (
there's a slogan in there somewhere
), with massive roll-cages installed.
Now (
or last time I checked
), a Ford could be exactly the same chassis as a Chevy, underneath a not-so-stock sheet-metal shell.
Of course, this would mean going to front wheel drive, V-6 cars..But if you get away from these ridiculously expensive motors, and computer/wind-tunnel designed bodies.. you could make it so that grass-root teams could be competetive.. and sponsors wouldn't have to invest millions to field a few cars..
