Amazing that you enroll for a competition and then do not take part at all...
With so many no-show team members, we might perhaps average the numbers? So divide the total number by the number of actual participants? That would then be a fairer result than just have the total...

I tend to agree Jan. I think with so many no shows, it is no longer an actual contest between FSX & FS9.

Edited:
I think somebody should provide all of us that did stick around with milk and cookies.  Roll Eyes Grin

Agree, but forget the milk and cookies more like beer and a kebab

Bruce

That'll work too!  Cheesy Grin

On the contrary, it's more of contest now, then ever.

The first two Xv9 comps were never this close going into the last round. This whole contest has been tight and close, and will be evident after I post all the judges scores next week.

Team 9 lead by less than 20 points for 4 Rounds, then Team X took the lead, and has kept it by less than 50 points for 5 rounds, and now, here we are in the final round with a Tie.  You can't ask for better, or closer than this.  Cool

Therein lies the 'Team' aspect of this competition.  In every round, someone has had to miss (even me), due to various reasons. It was then up to the rest of the team to hold it all together. Would you take that pride of knowing your team didn't go under because of your contribution away, or the motivation to make it in next time because you had to miss?

The first two versions of this contest were the same as well.  Not everyone made it each week.

We've also had many scores not turned in. One of the judges hasn't sent me any scores since round 4, and Leigh had to drop out last week. This has left Team 9 facing a panel of 3 judges that ALL use FSX. But we still keep trying.  Wink

I think Xv9 is like baseball.  We each get our turn at bat, and if someone strikes out, it's up to the next man to hit a home run.   If someone on the team doesn't show up to play, they don't throw away the earned runs and go by batting average to determine the winner.  Wink

This contest also represents 'Sim loyalty' in a way.  We've managed to assemble some of the most devoted screen shot artists at simv, and we've been proving it for 9 weeks now. If we lose, I'll be content with it, because we held on till the end, and never gave up. What ever the final score is, I'll be happy with, because it was earned by me and my mates, with no need to make it sugar coated.  Cool

This has by far been the toughest, most competitive contest I've ever been a part of here, and I thank each and every one of you who have participated, submitted your finest work, and pushed each other to be better at what we do.

That what this contest is really about.

I asked about this in the beginning (when Team 9 couldn't fill all of it's spots), and it was decided then, by all of us, that it would be a total score, It has been clearly posted in the rules, that if you miss, this contest rolls on without you.  If we change it now, we mess with the integrity of this contest and its rules. Wink

This is why you are a mod. You ALWAYS think before you post and usually with a more level head. This could not have been said any better, by anyone. And I, for one, am very proud to have been on the same team with you.  Smiley
In other words, as usual, you are right.  Embarrassed

I mentioned on one of the previoues threads/themes that I'd be gone from the 21st of December until the 1st or 2nd of January, so I wouldn't be able to get an entry in... I was hoping someone would cover for me...

I'm still in Tennessee and still won't be back until this weekend.

Since Nick is out maybe just 9 players can enter a shot and that would be fair... lol

Best of luck to you all. I won't be able to check this again for a few days so...

Happy new year.

Andy

No need for that,  I think it's most fair if we just treat it as Andy leaving, and keep  both teams at 9 people for the last round.
