anyways, snippyfsxer, which planes would you consider uber in fsx?.....one of these days i may start to learn how to fly
That phrasing made me laugh because it almost implies that I am somehow an authority on what constitutes a realistic addon. I wish! On the other hand, I can read a chart and set my climb thrust accordingly.
I have been very satisfied sticking to the conventional wisdom as to what is superlative, such as PMDG or A2a. The notable exception here is the CS727, hence the thread. My experience with this product does not make me want to go out and get any of their other offerings.
I happen to very much like the Flight1
Super 80. It has a very good level of procedural depth. The charts are extensive, and the numbers mean something when setting up a flight. It isn't as extensive as the Maddog offering by another company, but that model isn't FSX optimized and I imagine would be a dog on my system.
I can't sing the praises of the A2a
Stratocruiser enough.
I love the Digital Aviation
Cheyenne. I just had one of those flights recently where all the hard work of putting a system together, getting the right addons, tweaking the performance, and finally having enough flight-sim flying skill, all come together centered around a great airplane like this. If I was stranded on a deserted island and could only take one addon with me, it very well might be this.
The great thing about the in-depth addons, is that if you are just in the mood to ram the throttles forward and and fly a good looking plane unrealistically, you can do that too since its just a sim. But by having that level of detail available it appeals to the book-flying-flight-sim nerds as well.
