Simviation Forum - HELP ! My CFS2 is out of order . . . .

I have a big Problem with CFS2 : i added new aircraft and ships and they work exatly in the preview. When i start the training-flight or the dogfight i became a popup-window with following failure:

in german :

Die Datenbanken konnten nicht initialisiert werden.
Möglicherweise müssen Sie dieses Produkt neu installieren, da einige Datendateien fehlen bzw. zerstört sind.

Die Generierung eines Gefechtsübungseinsatzes ist fehlgeschlagen.

in english :

Unable to initialize databases. Possibly you have to re-install this product since datafiles are missing or destroyed.
----------------------------------------------------------
Generation of Combat-Trainingflight failed.

Mission- and Campaignflights are possible.

I installed CFS2 for so many times that i could not count them. From one flight to another the failure appears and the problem cannot be solved. I need HELP !!! Has anyone a solution for me ??????

It's a long time since I was involved with CFS2 but I'll help if I can. A lot will depend on which addons you have installed. First of all you might like to check out my CFS2 FAQ page to see if that helps. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2faq.htm

I remember one problem with the first Fox Four campaign that only affected the German version of CFS2. A fix was posted on the Fox Four site. See Fix 2 here. http://www.simviation.com/lair/cfs2kwupdates.htm

One of the addons you have installed is definitely the source of the problem. The most likely scenario is that one of these addons has the SOUND aliased to an aircraft that you do not have installed. Undecided

Check the sound.cfg files on each of the addons to make sure that they either have their own sound files, or are aliased to another aircraft that you do have installed. Cool

I remember an old thread on ship limits..but don't recall if there is one or not.
I do know a corrupted ship file can really screw things up. Cheesy

True, I am still trying to find the bug in my SHIPS folder that is giving me the heinous pop-up. This is in several installs & doesn't happen with a SHIPS folder which has been mostly emptied. Probably is something simple as usual but I'm having a hell of a time finding it.

I've got over 175 ships in the old SHIPS folder, and nary a peep of protest from CFS2. Roll Eyes

However, when the old AIRCRAFT folder hits 98-100, all hell breaks loose. Cry
