We (my family and me) are looking for a digital video camera as a present for my fathers 65th birthday in February. He likes to take pictures and mentioned a few weeks ago that he would like to try his hands on making videos. Mainly of the grandchildren and family reunions so nothing fancy. Now, we all have a digital photocamera and I know my way around these things but videocameras? I've seen a couple and I think one that records on DVD is the most easy to use for him.

I'd like your ideas on these cameras. Brand doesn't matter as long as it records on normal size DVD's and doesn't go past 300 Euros.
