I got this game for Xbox 360 about 12 hours ago and I am about three quarters of the way through the main story line (there are also 'assassin contracts', 'mail delivery' and other side line quests to carry out) and I must admit, the game is not half bad.

2 years back I got the first Assassin's Creed for Christmas and I was a bit disappointed because it seemed so repetitive and it didn't really appeal. However, my views have now been flipped around and I am loving the sequel. The gameplay is a much more varied, but it has slightly lost the touch it had in the last game. It feels quite like a kiddy RPG where the levels are built up of many cutscenes and a lot of the brain work is taken away from you. That said, the assassinations you can do are quite brutal - As per the box art, you now have two wrist blades... And most people have two eyes... So I think you can see where this one is going  Shocked   But honestly, it is quite appealing to that darkside we all have within us. It is now easier to jump-assassinate and sneaking around is much easier too. You can throw people off high ledges and your weapons get upgraded by Leonardo DaVinci who also builds you one of his famous flying machines which is a lot of fun.

All in all, I am quite impressed. I have recently unlocked the old Altair armor and you can colour and customise it as well as buying a large variety of weapons from butcher knifes to smoke bombs. I dislike using the pistol though, that is fairly brutal. Undecided

I know it has been out a few months, but has anyone else bought it and if so, what did you think?

Bought the White Edition for PS3 a little more than a week ago, and I love it! It's much better than the first Smiley

Beat it a while back...

What an amazing game. So much better than the original. Combat isn't AS repetitive (At times, it does resort to the old tactic of letting your enemies surround you, while picking them off with parries/auto-kills). All the different weapons available makes a huge difference though. Hammers, knives, daggers, swords of all sizes... A few different sets of armor... All kinds of side quests and hidden goodies (The Assassin Tombs, the Puzzles hidden throughout the cities, etc).

Me? I loved the double hidden blade. I don't think I've seen something so amusing as flying down from a balcony and stabbing two people in the neck at the same time Tongue

The ending is quite a bit of a cliffhanger though Angry

I haven't completed the first game yet (I got bored and quit) but yeah, the ending is rather confusing.

AS3 is supposed to take place in Medieval times, or WW2. But WW2 is only going to happen if one of the lead people quit as they promised it would not happen in such an overly used age.

Me? I am quite looking forward to a Medieval game, I liked that age.
