Cause I cannot play WAR(War hammer online) fior 10 minutes with out getting my cpu to get up to 50 C

WAR for some reason uses 100% of my CPU

When your idling?  If so then check to see if any processes are hogging it up, use task manager, it might just be a anti-viro scan  Wink

Its when I'm idling... if it could go any more than 100% when I play FSX it would probably at 150%  Tongue

I'll check the processes when I get back on my desktop and give you an update Wink

Just might have a virus, or a buggy program that is stealing CPU cycles. Start up Windows Task Manager (alt-ctrl-delete, or, Ctrl-shift-esc), go to the processes tab, and find the image name with the highest CPU reading. What is it called? You can end it from there, and stop it from starting up when windows is booted by going start--->run--->msconfig.

Also, I would run a virus scan, also.

From what I understand, 50C is fine for an AMD Athlon II.

I can tell you, I never remember seeing nHancer running that high... but my last experience with it was a quite a while ago. Tongue

The name for this process describes itself... if your cpu usage was at 0%, this would be around 99%. It only shows the idle time of the processor.  Wink

In newer versions of programs like Coretemp, there is usually an option that displays the maximum temperature the CPU has reached. I don't know much about AMD and its safe zones of temperatures, but I believe 50C should be fine...

You do not need nHancer to be running in the background.  Smiley All of its changes are permanent, and the nvidia drivers will automatically implement the changes you made. There is an option in nhancer to disable it starting up when the computer boots if you like.

Also, I believe some websites (or even addons / widgets) might cause Firefox to use lots of CPU cycles.

If eliminating Firefox and nHancer do not help, then I don't know what is causing it, in which cause I would run a virus scanner.
