Did the plane get crashed into by the vehicle on the first one? The Remove Before Flight tags are still on. Crazy drivers  Sad

I can't say I have seen these before, but it still makes me wonder how on Earth these events could've happened  Grin

Indeed. A composite using the Bruntingthorpe bomb-proof luggage container tests on the 747.

Aircraft vehicle accidents happen frequently.  That is why at commercial airports, all drivers are required to receive training and be certified annually.  However it still doesn't prevent all accidents, as I have many photos on my work computer of incidents, including one last year between an airport ops truck and a United CRJ.

Link with a photo.

once again:  parking brake.

At KAAO we had a line guy who was towing a Cessna 441 full of fuel when the towbar snapped off.  The line guy did the complete opposite of what he was supposed to do and stopped the tug thinking he could jump off and stop the plane with his body.  The Conquest rolled over the top of the tug and pinned it down under the nacelles.  We had to jack up the plane just to get the tug out from under it.  Luckily there wasn't any serious damage (the propellers and engine shaft were not damaged)

it was a 1 1/2 years ago, the driver was not fired, but the person who attached the towbar to the tug was.  The tug driver was a supervisor who made very good friends with the management.  This is a symptom of the company which still exists today (although not the reason I left).  The managers there always place personal relationships before the needs of the company.  The driver was fired 9 months later for not reporting a hangar rash incident to the pilot (tried to get away with only telling the maintinance department and sliding it under the rug).

Thats all for now, unless anyone wants to hear the incredibly long list of sublimely idiotic behaviors of other employees who worked there during my time? Grin
