'm confused about the weather in HSHost  ....  I have it set in FSHost but each player who joins will be in the weather that their FSX is set at.  I'm thinking we should all have the weather that the host has ... do I need to tell each player who joins to set their weather the same as the host .... or should it be automatic.  Am I just overlooking something?  I DO have it set in FSHost ..... is there another setting that I don't know about? Shocked

The problem with that idea, for me, is that the "Host" often selects Weather conditions that my General Aviation, VFR, Private Pilots Licence would never allow me to fly in!... Shocked...!

I carefully select my current "Weather" to suit my VFR Licence!... Smiley...!

Low Clouds, and freezing rain scare me!... Shocked...!

Whether Paul can weather the weather, remains to be seen.  Grin

I always leave mine set to real world, unless the conditions are so terrible that I can't see more than a foot or two in front of me, then I'll clear it up a bit.

I've never tried setting the FSHost weather for the server here, It just stays on the user default setting I believe.

In the past, the Sim V Multiplayer Host has set the weather to affect all the other Pilots during the flight...
...which can be a bit annoying, sometimes...Wink...!

I generally prefer to potter around in clear blue skies, which also gives me the best Frame Rates... Kiss...!

Paul.....singing..."Mr. Blue sky.."... ...

I think it occurs when the Host uses his own IP Address (and weather) for the Flight, and everyone else logs on to it?.....Wink...!

Thanks guys ..... I think setting the host to the "real world" might be the easiest to deal with.  The FSHost software will tell the players what to use .... that is, if they look.  The Chat Command  "?wx"  will bring it up .... and then the players will try to figure out how to set it correctly ... so "real world" would be the simplest I think ... for me anyway.  But we have the same problem with "time"  .... that is, some guys show up in the middle of the night and say ..... WTH???? .... and I'm back to training mode!   Grin Grin This is indeed .... a work in progress.

You can "FORCE" the players on your host server to have whatever weather you want them to have by setting up the weather parameters (which is not always fair.)  .... I have 'SEVERE' problems flying in thunderstorms due to low framerates, so if you FORCE members to fly in thunderstorms all over the world, just because you are holding a training session in KEDW (edwards AFB) then I am going to have major thunderstorms in Italy when I am trying to fly my Helo around Rome.   --- Besides, you can not set FSHOST to "Real World Weather", as it has no idea where people are insim, until they connect.  The user/member will have to set their own Real Weather, by which means that FSHOST will cancel out the user because you want the user to have a set described weather for that session.s

...

However --- if you put a message in your WELCOME message that scrolls across the top of the screen, and just do not Set FSHost Server Weather, that leaves individual pilots to do whatever they want to do.  If you want to fly Real World weather, and I want to fly Clear Skies, then You can fly what you want, and I can fly what I want.   Which is a lot more fair.

...

My set-up during Multiplayer Sessions (with other Pilots) is always pre-set as follows:

Weather: Clear skies: Best/smoothest Frame Rates....(and longer life!).
Wind: None.: Best Control.
Time: 12 O/Clock Midday: Most light.
Date: September 23rd: Best golden Autumn (Fall) Testures.

Most of my non-Multiplayer/Solo flights use the same settings...for the same reasons... Kiss
...and gives me the most enjoyable, and safest flights...
...and I am mostly a General Aviation, VFR Pilot!...Wink..!

If flying conditions are not "good" to "perfect".....I stay on the ground!.. Wink...!

Paul..G-BPLF...FS 2004...FS Nav.... Cool...!

Wild "REX" Clouds are only good to "look at", whilst sitting safely in my comfy Seat, outside the FBO Office, with a hot mug of Coffee!... Grin...!

Ahhh .... I did NOT have "Send Weather to players every 60 seconds" checked ..... perhaps you need to do that for their weather to be consistent?

you can set the "SEND WEATHER TO PLAYERS EVERY: _____ Seconds" to as low as 1.  that way no matter if the player tries to change their weather to what THEY want, if they are on your server, 1 second after they are back in the plane (before it can go to what they want) it stays as SEVERE THUNDERSTORM, or SEVERE SNOW with a 100knot wind out of 270. ..... yeah, a hell of a blizzard!!!  Shocked Cheesy
