Good show Mark....very nice...looks like everyone is having fun.

Quick question for you or someone across the pond...   Smiley

Is there a museum close to London that displays all the Axis Aircraft in one location?

What about a museum that displays all Allied Aircraft in one location?

A lot of folks I have spoken to feel that would be a Nations War Museum but not sure if that is a fact or not.

Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Hi Doug. You won't find a comprehensive selection anywhere. Hendon is in London. (30 minutes by Tube from Victoria Station.) The RAF Museum in Mark's photos has a pretty good selection of WWII aircraft from both sides. Here's a list of exhibits:
BoB Hall
Bomber Hall
Historic Hangars
Milestones of Flight

The Science Museum in South Kensington also has a few aircraft on display. http://www.aeroflight.co.uk/mus/uk/scimus/sciencemus.htm

The Imperial War Museum aircraft collection is displayed at Duxford (50 miles from Central London) which is also the home of several private warbird restorers. http://duxford.iwm.org.uk/

Further afield, the Science Museum has a reserve collection at RAF Wroughton, near Swindon, which is open to the public on special occasions. http://www.sciencemuseum.org.uk/about_us/about_the_museum/science_museum_at_wrou...

There is another section of the RAF Museum at RAF Cosford which is in the West Midlands. http://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/cosford/collections/aircraft/war-planes-aircraft-col...

Hendon's certainly the place for axis types if you only visit one place. Arguably after that Cosford, and then probably the IWM.

Ahh Hendon, I remember that place as it was yesterday I visited it Smiley
The BoB show in the BoB hall, where they tell the story, and lights up the aircrafts when mentioned (Spitfire, Hurri, Me110 and Me109), was soo cool to listen to Cheesy
Also I remember a guide, who used to be a gunner at a Lanc. He was impressed by my english, despite the fact that I was only 15 years old back then Cool
