Missed this the first time. FSX needs to be in windowed mode, only when using the FSHost servers, so that you can use the chat box.

If you're running Teamspeak, and don't use the chat window, then you can leave it in full screen if you want, but if someone sends you a message, you won't know it.

I've just spent the afternoon trying to figure out some way of getting my FSX to connect to a Server...any bloody Server!.... Shocked

...no luck...there's no easy, straightforward way of doing it...like FS 2004.... Angry

Why couldn't FSX have a simple drop-down Menu, like FS 2004..."Connect to Server" while the Sim is running on the screen!... Roll Eyes

I give up with it...again...and go back to my Trusty FS 2004 for Solo and Multiplayer Flights!... Kiss

BREAKING NEWS!! I just stumbled onto something that appears to have fixed MY problem so perhaps someone else has made the same mistake. When I configured my Static IP there were 2 network icons in the System Tray and I picked the wrong one!!!!!!! Cheesy

It did not keep me from the Internet, but it did NOT allow FSHost to Register with the Master Server. I have now started a game .... I see my game in FSHostSpy .... I joined my game and I'm waiting for 2 friends to appear to know that it works ALL the way through .... but so far .... it looks like it will! Hooray!! I cannot believe what a pain in the butt this has been .... but I'll keep testing ..... Shocked
