I am struggling to get my flaps to work. the swing wing animation works fine, but the flaps dont work at all. I gave the wings the name L_Pct_Trail_Edge_Flap0 and is linked directly to the fuselage. The flaps I named L_Pct_Trail_Edge_Flap1 and is linked to L_Pct_Trail_Edge_Flap0. I use keyframe animation, modeling in Gmax and is using FS9 SDK for exporting to FS9.

I would appreciate the help.

I don't have the FS9 SDK in hand to double check the tags, but I *think* you may have to recheck the suffixes used.

maybe "_Flap0" is recognized, but not "_Flap1"

You may want to try "_Flap_01"

Still no luck. I wonder does it have to do with the fact that there is just one [flaps_0] in the cfg? I see in the f-14 cfg there is a [flaps_1] as well?
( I've copied the [flaps_1] from the f14 to my cfg, but it did'nt work. I did not play around with the part name in Gmax after I added the second set of flaps in the cfg)

Edited:
Ok It worked - added the  [flaps_1] in the CFG, and named the second pair of flaps ( the actual flaps) L_Pct_Trail_Edge_Flap1 and there the flaps worked!!!!

yes that may have something to do with it, IIRC Flaps 0 is the full up, and what ever highest number you have (lets say flaps 7) that would be your fully deployed setting, however you may need to define the deployed angle (or %?) of how far the flaps are extended in each position, I may be a bit off since I don't have the SDK installed at this time and Im not at the machine that does...but the flaps_0 may have a part in it...

I think these are the entries you need to work with...this is from the stock FS9 172.

[flaps.0]       //Trailing Edge Flaps
type             = 1                                    // 1 - tail, 2 - lead
span-outboard    = 0.5                                  // 0.0 .. 1.0
extending-time   = 7                                    // seconds
flaps-position.0 = 0                                    // degrees
flaps-position.1 = 12.7                                 // degrees
flaps-position.2 = 25.3                                 // degrees
flaps-position.3 = 38                                   // degrees

damaging-speed   = 120                                  // KIAS
blowout-speed    = 150                                  // KIAS
lift_scalar = 1.0
drag_scalar = 1.0
pitch_scalar= 1.0
system_type = 0                                         //0=Electric, 1=Hydraulic, 2=Pneumatic, 3=Manual, 4=None

Remember...This is Fun!
