Hello All, I have gone back in older posts to look at suggestions for monitors, and because of the rapid turnover of electronic component inventories, I am hoping to get some suggestions for some current models that might still be available for the upcoming Xmas season. There is a $300 limit on this purchase. Any and all suggestions are appreciated.   Tnx, Skip

Dell has a good selection of refurbs.  We have two, a 19 and a 21.  One for a little over a year, the other for two plus.  Both excellent.

NewEgg.com has a HannsG 22" for $138 US. I bought one a couple of weeks ago and another arrived yesterday.

Free shipping in the States too.

Here's my criteria to look for...

Viewable size. It may be called a 21" but you won't get a 21" viewable.

DPI (Dots per inch) The smaller the finer

10+ years ago @ $1,500... I got a Hitachi 802 - 21", 20" view, .22dpi, res 1600x1200. Yeah, it weighs 75lbs, but I've never found anything better, for me anyway.

Hopefully this link works correctly...http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010190020+131034405...These are the smallest DPI and the fastest response for the DPI.

That's all I can contribute since these things are going LCD, LED and such.

What do computers and air conditioners have in common?...
They both will work perfectly, until you open windows.

Thank you all that responded. It seems that Asus is a favorite although  the 25.5" model is sold out at NewEgg. I will continue to look for the 25.5 Asus and if I cannot find it,I will opt for a smaller Asus model that is in stock at NewEgg. Once again, thank you everyone for taking the time to respond.  Skip

Here's another suggestion. My son has this one and it's an extremely nice monitor. Granted it only 24" and you might want something larger but this is a very nice monitor and the price is pretty good too with $60.00 instant savings.
Plus it has Free Shipping.  Cheesy

Good luck on whatever you choose. Wink

It looks like you can still get one from Amazon

The Dell 22" is a nice one, without costing to much.

If you want to get some "display" motivation check out this blog:

I am thinking about getting a 42Inch Samsung 1080P 120hz LCD tv to hook up to my system. Has anyone tried this? Any thoughts?

I wanted to use this with for my computer and also hook it up to ATT Uverse.

Any input would be much appreciated! I have not found a good post on going with an LCD TV  Cheesy

I tried with my new LG 32 Full HD, but my 9600 GT and poor performing AMD Venom (!) 9650, were brought down totally!

But it looked absolutely awsome the short time it lasted... Cheesy

With a 42" and your system, it would work I think, enjoy!

Be sure to connect with HDMI cables, not VGA. Your card must have a HDMI out or at least an adaptor.

Better 1 big screen than 2 or 3 with the monitor frames splitting the scenery IMO...
