CHKDISK & Windows 7 (Read 387 times)

Every time I boot my laptop chkdisk starts, saying my drive *might* be corrupted.
The same thing happens on my missus' laptop (Windows 7 too)

It completes showing no errors, anyone else getting this.. or knows why?

Yours,

Confused of South London.

after running chdsk (make sure it runs before windows is booted and started/logged in) once windows is up and running try running a disk defrag (auslogics disk defrag is one I strongly recommend, works a lot faster then the stock M$ one) and it also can optimize your disk(s) as well...

also run a registry cleaner program to try and clean out any invalid entries or any thing else in registry that could potentially lead to things liek this...will also help speed the machine up a tad too...if it happens after all that again...it might indicate another issue...or worse...but well explore those options when/if needed...

then....

"uhhhhhh WTF?!" sounds like you might have a possible issue with the drive...

did this also happen with any other windows you might have had? (xp, vista?), if not have you tried defragging and all that? if yes then I really don't know what could be going on since that shouldnt be happening if its a relitivly fresh install... Undecided
