Are you adding lights in gmax, as in a gmax "light"  or "spotlighr" ??

Is the shading/darkness happening in gmax or in FS?

To add lights in an aircraft model, you attach the light effects with the attachpoint tool.

You do NOT use the gmax modelling "lights" and "cameras", since thos affect only the gmax scene.

You COULD use the gmax lighting and camera to create, say, a screenshot of a hightly detailed panel, for example, and use the screenshot as the basis for your panel, but otherwise, the cameras and lights are basically useless in a flightsim model.

Remember, gmax has more modelling power and features than FS can actually handle.
