...just a thought...
As we all enjoy celebrating each others Birthdays so much...
...!
On some Forum Sites, a message appears each at the bottom of the Forum Page each day, noting a Members Birthday, (and his/her age)....
"Freds Birthday today. Age 102"
Can it be done in the YaBB HTML page..?...
...?
Paul....Happy Birthday...everyone!...

It might be me but I don't want everyone knowing my birthday. That's the reason I didn't put it in my profile.
I've often wondered how people know other forum members birthdays without searching through their profiles. I presume most of them come from
MySpace
Facebook or similar social networking sites that everyone seems to belong to nowadays.

Would be a nice idea but with little more than 34000 members there would be close to a hundred people celebrating their birthday on the bottom of the forum. 34.000 / 365 = you do the maths....

Good idea Fozz...
how about have all members who want to publicly post their birthdays to submit it to an application of sorts so not every single member's birthday is posted at once if that is possible.

If you don't enter your Date of Birth in your Profile, it doesn't appear anywhere on the Forum Page, anyway...and no one sees your Birthday Cake!!
....(don't enter your Date of Birth, if you don't want anyone to know)...!
Paul...
...!
P.S. Avsim have 68,000+ Registered Members....(only 4 Member's Birthday (listed) today)...
...!
P.P.S...I love getting Birthday Cards...and Cake!...

I think it could be done... And yeah, if you don't want people to know your birthday nor age, then simply don't put that information up.
Sounds like a good idea

Yeah a lot of forums seem to have that feature turned on. I don't personally see the harm in it. The details are made publically available if you put them there... This just displays them in an easier way than having to find the profile of the person.

There's far too much fun going on round here as it is. We don't really want to add to that now do we!

Thank you, Lads...

The problem is, you will observe that some of us are of non-disclosed "Gender" in our Profile, so the problem arises....
...will it be a Blue card, or will it be a Pink card, on the day?...

If it was anything to do with me Paul you know you'd get a "Blue" card so you'd be tickled pink
