I'm running a speedy comp, so that shouldn't be an issue, and I'm wondering what the best payware are for a number of categories (or really good free equivalents)

1. Traffic - I've got WOAI, but are Traffic X, My Traffic X/2010, or UT 2 better?
1a. Also, is there a freeware display board for AI traffic?

2. Scenery - I've got GEX, UTX US, and REX running, but what about photo-realistic scenery for the US (until FTX comes out) - is Mega Scenery X any good? I know there are bad reviews on the Earth version...

3. Other addons to make FSX seem more realistic? AES? FSC? Live Cockpit?

4. Any ATC add-ons that are particularly good? Sounds perhaps?

Also, and these are very newbie questions:
5. Are there any add-ons that allow for the plane you're flying to automatically follow ATC's instructions?
6. Are there any planes that can land on autopilot?

Thx for the help!

You're looking for addons that will fly and land the aircraft for you? May as well get a bunch of flight deck videos...

no, i want add-ons that make FSX more realistic...I'm happy to fly, which I why I have the program, but if there are more realistic autopliots, then I want those. If not, fine.

Most of the good airliner paywares have an autoland feature like pmdg 747, level d 767, captainsim 757 and I'd imagine captainsim 767.

My specs
I7920 4ghz
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
6gb Corsair DDR3 1600
BFG GTX285OCX
Windows 7 64bit

If you are looking for a realistic support (1st officer) during flight you could try FS2Crew. I never tried it myself though - so I can't give you any first hand experience.

Get the Reality GPS 430 or 530.  No kidding...There is nothing cooler than zooming in and seeing the name of the street that you are flying over and (since you are using UTX) being able to verify it out the window.  Plus, it will either fly, or offer passive guidance for, thousands of real world approaches.  It is neat to have a chart in hand, and then being able to call up that approach and see it laid out there on your screen just like the chart.  The FMS equipped airliners will do that too, but for some reason with the GPS you feel more like a pilot and less like a bus driver.

I can see you are using Windows Vista 64. Is there a patch to get the 430 GPS compatible with Vista 64 or Windows 7. I have the Dreamfleet Dakota which has the 430 and it seems to be incompatible with Windows 7 (FSX crashes when I load the plane).

ManuelL:
The new WAAS versions of the Reality are completely compatible with 64 bit operating systems.  I am almost positive that there is no way to patch the version you got with your Dakota to make it work.   However, I have also read, as you probably already know, that once you swap out the old GPS with the newer version, the Dakota works fine.

Thanks for the quick reply! Smiley
Something to think about - I always liked the Dakota.
