Have you ever played the game with your airplane buddies that when ever you hear a plane fly over you can hear it and the first one to identify the engine type and aircraft wins?
...or am I he only one?

Well sort of
We have arguments over what plane is what, and if a particular airline flies a plane, me and my friend had an argument over if Emirates flew the 767-400; which they don't.
Usually good fun though

Not really, but I started noticing that in quite a few cases I can tell what type of plane/helicopter it is just by the sound. It's kind of sad really.....

Its always easy to spot a pilot in a group of people. They will be the only ones who look up when a plane flys overhead.

In my 4 years working line service I would drive to school and pass under the flight pattern in the morning and know the make, model, owner and pilot of each plane that took off.
