A few shots from a late afternoon hop in the Tongass wilderness. Enjoying the default FSX Maule Orion, with skis here seeing as how its winter.

On a frozen lake/Fjord, with lumps of the nearby Glacier trapped in the ice for the winter....
...

Heading out after take off. Slowly, but surely, building altitude...
...

Suns setting fast, best stop sight seeing and head for home....
...

Back safely and all switched off. Couple of beers and a huge moose steak should finish the day off just fine Smiley ....
...

Thanks for looking.

#2 looks great! postcard like.

My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

If God intended aircraft engines to have horizontally opposed engines, Pratt and Whitney would have made them that way.

You're making a very strong statement for FSX, especially since my new FS9 made absolutely no difference.  How's it been around large airports of with lots of clouds?

Thanks for the comments  Smiley

olderndirt, my frame rates take a drop over big cities. Its worst at the airports. I have increased some of my settings since my other posts, mostly increasing the traffic amounts. Still have not made any of the tweaks yet either. Comming out of LAX with the 'building storms' setting I see about 20-25 fps, thats flying through the (hde) clouds in an airbus.

I stick to the small, light aircraft for FSX and it works a treat for me (locked at 45fps, minor drops to about 40fps). I will say though, when you do get a fps drop, it is alot smoother than the same event in FS2004.

All the best.

Did yours come with SP1 built in or did you have to download?  I see SP2 is available.

Hi,

I started out at....

PAPG, Johnson Petersburg, N56*48' W132*57' and made a short (not so short in the Maule!) hop over to the Patterson Glacier which is North West of Petersburg. You can just see the airfield lights in the bottom left of shot 3. The scenery is FSAddon's Tongass Fjords payware. Quite pricey, but worth every penny. 80,000 km2 of this kind of scenery to explore  Smiley

Thanks.
