I've met:
Bobby Goldsboro - really nice guy, very friendly.
Dennis Yost & The Classics IV - ditto
Ace Cannon and his band - ditto, they put on a great act without Ace. But Ace was the south end of a north bound mule.
Eric Burdon of The Animals - Just a little weird.
Joe Stamply - in the sixties when he was with The Uniques, nice guy, friendly.
Razzy Bailey and his wife - very nice guy. A little shy in public though; his wife said he still gets nervous before going on stage. He was more normal on the phone.
Martin Delray - not friendly, not very talkative. He is extremely talented though.
Sid Herring of the sixties band, The Gants - friendly enough, but a little pushy. He mixed a couple of songs I wrote and did not do a good job of it. We were under contract to the same studio at the time.
David, Rayburn, and Clayburn Huff of David and The Giants - I have known them since the mid sixties and they are good friends. They were a rock band and are now a Christian rock group. For a while, Keith Thibodeaux was their drummer. He was one of the drummers that played little Ricky on I Love Lucy. He is also the one that introduced the Huffs to Christianity. I was with David when I met Bobby Goldsboro. They were house band at The Vapors in Biloxi and the owner use to bring in known acts to split sets with the house band. That is also where I met The Classics IV and Ace Cannon's band and would have met Willie Nelson if he had not cancled.
