Wow. This shot really stands out to me. Nice, smooth texture on the UC-64 and appropriate weather. Good luck!

Funny you should post this, just the other night my local PBS station ran a "Secrets of the Dead" about what happened to Glenn Miller. Some experts believe that a homeward bound bomber returning from a scrubbed mission was ditching its bombs over the channel and one hit Miller's plane which was flying below the cloud cover, neither plane knowing the other was there due to some radar foul up.

That theory was put forward by aviation historian Roy Nesbit. I'm not sure radar was involved as the pilot didn't file a flight plan & wasn't in radio contact. Read about it here.

There are a lot of different conspiracy theories about this which is very common when anyone famous disappears without trace. After 65 years it's unlikely that the truth will ever be known. Unless the wreckage is discovered nobody knows for certain where his aircraft went down so the theories will continue.

This month's screenshot contest has an emotional aspect I wasn't expecting...foul weather and flying has brought some notable tragedies to the music world. In addition to Glenn Miller there was "the day the music died" (Buddy Holly, Richie Valens, and the Big Bopper).
