If anyone's been following my laments about graphics card and FS9, here's something interesting.  Just for laughs, downloaded the FSX demo.  Looked promising so set sliders to medium high and AA on for the screenshot.  Left the info bars on top - note the FPS.  This could be the start of a new romance  Smiley.                  ...

I think that proves your problem is with FS9 rather than your video card.

Haven't tried it enough to compare flight characteristics but the default scenery appears as good as FS9 payware.  This second shot all scenery sliders are maxed and AA is on for the picture.                    ...                     Unless my eyes deceive, 40FPS.

Just bear in mind that this is the FSX Demo. It runs perfectly well on my low-end machine which I know full well wouldn't stand a chance with the full release version.

God bless Microsoft and all who sail in her.  If it appears to be too good to be true, it probably is  Smiley.

i was just about to say, its just the DEMO.  Not the WHOLE PACKAGE.  the whole package is a TERRIBLE resource hog! almost as bad as IE8!!!!!!  Angry Angry  Now I am thinking of scrapping my FSX Deluxe (bought) version and downloading the Demo Version just because I rarely ever fly FSX anyway, and when I do I wish it would look decent enough to where I could at least just see buildings at my airports and not just baren wasteland when it is supposed to be KSEA, KATL, BOS, JFK, LAX......... ugh... (sigh) Undecided Cry

I think the water in your bottom shot is gorgeous, older. I'm not one of those who has to have every add-on like clouds, water and grazing goats. I think they just slow down the computer and invite trouble...

If nothing else, I can fly around the Netherlands Antilles enjoying the water and such on this demo.  Too bad Microsoft didn't make some of those FSX features a retrofit for FS9  Smiley.
