I use IE8 but need to go to FireFox.  Since I don't know it well, is there a way to port all my addresses and passwords over?

What's wrong with IE8? I prefer it over FF actually, especially after moving to W7.

Anyways, when you install FF, I believe it asks you whether you want to move all that stuff over from IE to FF.

IE8 is more CPU intensive and usually pretty slow at loading up website details such as CSS, Javascript and all that. There are benchmarks out there comparing the major browsers and IE8 doesn't do that well.

I'm not sure about passwords, but most other information can be transferred, yes.

Try this Jordan.

I installed all of the 'big name' browsers, lived with each one for a week, and kept the one that pissed me off the least.

I'm running FireFox. Wink

And this was after I had been running IE for 2 years quite happily.

Safari was quite interesting, but just hard for me to get used to.  I didn't care for Google chrome at all. IE8 gave me nonstop fits of CTD or CTRB and would wipe all of my login data clear making me have to go back and sign in everywhere I went. Angry

After a month with Firefox now, that's not occurred once, and it's the most similar to IE, so I don't ever find myself searching for a feature.  Lots of cool plugins too.  Wink

After reading about problems with IE8, including a conflict with files used in FS, I decided not to install it. I'm quite happy with Firefox which I've been using for a long time with no problems at all.

That's because MS included a lot of Firefox features in IE8.

You should just be able to import settings, bookmarks etc straight into Firefox.
I wouldn't use any other browser Wink

I didn't even know something like this existed. Shocked

It looks awesome. Will try it but I see a downside is that I can't get Google ToolBar. Sad

EDIT: Never mind...found the toolbar. Time to play with it some more.

Opera 10 FTW. Many IE and FF features were originally from Opera, for example, integrated web search, tabs, zoom, sessions / continued browsing, mouse gestures and perhaps more, like an integrated Mail and chat clients that nothing else has. Wink

Hi,

Whenever you install Firefox then there is an option of import from Internet Explorer, so you can use that for importing your saved password, bookmark, favorite and all.
