Thanx Hagar,

tried it & after a longish wait a small window said sign up as a guest for something?, so I did it & then got the download.

Actually wanted to redownload AutosaveFSX as it did not seem to work flowlesly as per fs9.

It seems that the 5, 10 are minutes not seconds.

It works better now.                     ..................luke

Something odd there Luke. That is the direct link to the file. There's no need to sign up for anything to download files from the free site.

NO, I gave my spare online email address in the Guest option.

NOW need another help, I downloadedthe 2 parts " FSX FSX World Wide SRTM 38M Mesh Europe Part 1." & 2 & the raed.me file says:

"....Install bgl files in any activate scenery folder - and make
sure they are higher than default scenery files in scenery
library....."

but I cannot understand what it means.

Went in FSX Settings Scenery Library, to add them but cannot find out how. In foto I added an area EURO but seems empty

Any help?

OK. I still can't figure it out but I assume you've had no problems with downloading files since.

I would install the mesh like any other 3rd party scenery. The basic principle is described in my FS2002 Scenery Clinic. http://www.simviation.com/lair/fs2002sc.htm

Ignore the last section on Afcads. Note that mesh scenery won't usually need a Texture folder as it uses the default textures. Once it's activated from the Scenery Library you can arrange it above the default scenery. That won't be necessary if this is the first scenery you've installed to FSX as it will automatically be at the top of the list.

It's exactly the same in the FSX Demo as in my tute. I see no reason why they would change anything in the full released version. I've used Grand Teton in this example.

Thanx again Hagar,

Similar to what I did, but I see no diference in the scenery when flying.

How did you get the "Grand Deton" above the "Addon Scenery" in the Library, mine only shows as No1 "Addon Scenery".

Maybe that's where I go wrong

Textures are mentioned, but as you can see in foto the 2 parts Simviation downloads only have four .bgl files.

That looks fine to me. When activating the scenery from the FSX Scenery Library just click on the Europe Global folder to select it, don't open it as in your shot.

PS. Wait a minute. It looks like you haven't got a Scenery sub-folder in the Europe Global folder. Try creating one & drag those BGL files into it.

Not sure what you've done there. Did you delete the scenery & texture folders from the Addon Scenery folder? If so, create new ones.

The Addon Scenery folder is activated by default although there is no scenery in it. It must have those scenery & texture sub-folders to be listed on the Scenery Library menu.

I did this:

...

and now the scenery changed but only added a lot of blocks, no improved realism in road mapping.

Must be a gimmic.

I would hardly think it's a gimmick.

Wish I could try it for you but that's not possible without the full FSX. The files are very big downloads for something I have no use for.

exactly, I do not have any use of this kind of scenery & out it goes, is not like the realistic UK foto scenery I used in fs9, but anyway thanks to you I learned something.

I use FSX daily, especially IFR with an FMC I installed on 2-3 small jets, makes it close to real Jet flying & navigating once aloft.

thanx, .......nick

PS downloading OK now.

OK. I'm glad you learned something by it.

Make sure you delete the Europe Global entry from the Scenery Library menu before removing it from the Addon Scenery folder.

Im having a problem downloading.

I use Mozilla, and every time I try downloading, I get a .PART file instead of your .zip.

I've been using Simviation for years now, and I just got my new comp and started flying again.

This angers me >( lol.

Sorry to hear of your problem.

If you read this you will read # Partial Go!Zilla Download  Used by Mozilla products for a partial download. The file is created for the download and, when complete, the file is renamed without the .PART extension.

It seems something is preventing a complete download. As this is on a new system it is likely to be some new software you have running.
Try IE to see if it is only associated with FF - if you still have the problem in IE then have a look at what tools (such as firewall settings or security tools) you may be running that could be effecting downloading.

Feedback would be appreciated.

It's not FF -- it's your system & how you have FF/other tools set up.

FF tends to have less problems on this site than IE. It is always user systems and additional things running that cause connection problems.
