Sorry about the jaggies in the paint. I don't know why it does that with the paint job if you don't look at it straight on.

I hate FSX ATC. They took me through a long approach- 45 extra minutes. I hadn't planned on 45 extra minutes. Of course you can't say you can't do it cause you're low on fuel. I ran out of fuel 5 miles from the airport at 1500 ft and 135 knots.  Angry Soooooo close.  Tongue There's goes 4 hours of my life I can't get back.

Comments welcome.

Cool

When planning an IFR trip, you should have enough fuel to fly to your destination, then to an alternate, then 45 minutes past the alternate.  Those are the legal minimums for fuel.  When all else fails take more, fuel left in the truck is useless to you.

I usually land with tons of extra fuel. Just poor planning on my part this time.

Cool

Nice shots.  Bummer on the ATC though.  Its actually a good idea to carry a bit more fuel Smiley  'Course, you can always do some mid air fuel tank injections.  It may be cheating, but hey, blame it on ATC!  Grin

Cheers,

i posted it once, something that i like about going with atc is the little chalenge it gave you sometimes. it can simply be a truck passing on the runway, an airplane in your flight trajectory or in your case a 45 min fatal delay. i dont know if it was intended by the conceptors but it's a reason to like this sim. well i must admit 45 min., it' kind of a bummer. cheer up. you,ll do better next time.

I think I have the fsx ATC blooper of all fsx ATC blopper stories.  Either that or an evil Halloween prank programmed in there by Microsoft.  Yesterday, while flying from KJFK to KDFW, the ATC from Regional Approach (Freddie Krueger himself) vectored me right through the Cedar Hill radio towers just southwest of Dallas, at an assigned altitude of 2,200 ft, on a suicidal approach to 35R.  In real life this would have sliced my MD11 in at least 3 pieces, however, fortunately for me I didn't have damge turned on or I would not have even survived base to final.  Anybody familiar with KDFW real life vectors will know what an insane approach assignment that was.  You always route approaches to avoid Cedar Hill, when appraoching from the southeast. Shocked

In my opinion it would look good if the lens flare was a circle and not a hexagon  Smiley
