Awesome selection of shots! Smiley

But, I must've missed the part(s) of the entry rules that allowed for no 'Fall color', or more than one (or no) props. Roll Eyes

Ima gonna hafta get me a new 'puter.....this one doesn't show all of the ruling "fine print".

Foul! Rules called for single engine aircraft only.  2 of these finalists should be disqualified and replaced with legitimate entries.  Sad

OMG people get over yourselves! They asked for LOW & SLOW. Not low and slow with only single engine props. Even in their example they used a helicopter and that has 2 props.

Some people are better at thinking outside the box than others.

Quite. The rules are perfectly clear if you read them properly.

We want to see a shot of a single engine prop plane skimming the tree line under an October Sky, a Beaver flying the bush on some remote destination or a Helicopter on a "Scenic Fall Tour". It is a "colorful" time of year so let's see some creativity in regards to your set up. October skies will offer great sunsets along with the changing of the leaves which will provide you with a great opportunity for that perfect shot! Any type of shot that includes your prop plane or whirlybird flying low & slow while taking in the sights is what we are looking for so...

Well stated I reckon.  If I was site owner/moderator then I s'pose I could pick and choose what rules to stick to, or bend, or outright fracture.

But, if such turns out to be the case, then put it out there ahead of time that complying with the rules is strictly voluntary and subject to owner/mod discretion.  Sorta brings up a bit of integrity issue when something turns out like this.

Perhaps the next next contest should have 'guidelines' instead of "rules", that way there's the built in caveat.

I'm jus' sayin'.....

Anyway!  All that aside, this is truly a great site!  I, for one, apreciate it very much, as I am sure a lot of others do!  I have found a LOT of solutions for FSX maladies and dilemmas here. And that has almost turned flightsim from a hobby for me to almost an "addiction"!  Cheesy

That's my $0.02 worth.

This is ridiculous. As I mentioned earlier the rules for this comp were perfectly clear. Perhaps someone would care to show me which particular ones were bent. Roll Eyes

Congrats to all! Those shots are brilliant! Cheesy

However, I guess some people are a little upset that there picture wasn't selected and I'm a little upset too, Embarrassed but we have to understand that it's so posed to be for fun! Who cares if you win or lose, it's a learning experience. And we all know that you learn from failing, and have a mind to do better the next time.

And i agree that my picture was a bit too chilly for the theme, but I'm happy with it! Smiley

My vote is in....good luck all... I really enjoyed the opportunity to participate. Even though I was not selected as a candidate, I enjoyed the process, learned some new tricks with trackIR, screenshot software etc...so it was an enjoyable learning experience....btw flying hovercontrol heli's with "real"settings is flippin hard./

I kept my toolbar in the shot to show a "screenshot" was a kick point.....next time I'll edit it out).....

Good Luck All......see you next contest......

nope, for example if your shot s 1280x800 you can resize it to 600x800. Just an example, but no cropping.
so if you want to have full screen do what ^ said and be sure the menu bar is gone by holding alt when in flight

3. All images Must BE NO WIDER THAN 1024 AND NOT MORE THAN 150KB IN WIEGHT!  No cropping, editing or adjusting your shot!!...

So nope no cropping only resizing. Sometimes you have to make a shot smaller than ya want(like me) to get the kb size Sad

Yes, because you can check the resolution ratio: wide-screen, non-wide-screen, etc.
