I have to disagree with you on that. First of all, it's a $hitload of work to build a good aircraftmodel. FSX and FS2004 models are (as I understand) very different. Second of all, there are still new models being developed for FS2004. And that will be for a long time to come since FS9 still has a very large number of users. Too bad that the models that you want aren't available, but that's the way it is.

Crash Wink

Trust me from experience, great models (for both FSX and FS9) are going to EXTREAMLY difficult and they will take hours, I made one plane, well ok it was a star ship from star trek, the USS Relant (never finished or released) but I only had the exterior model (well ok I had a very basic VC built, but never had gotten it to work correctly for what ever reason), and just the main saucer section (front rounded part, minus the rear squarish part) alone took me nearly a year to do, factor the rear part, plus the photon tube, necells grand total was about 2.5 years alone for the model, then the coloring of the model (applying the base textures with in the model its self as a secondary model to allow for higher details) about a month.

so total tome for the entire model, minus any textures (paint wise) about 2.75 years, and thats because of the extream level of detail I had done...and lhe level of detail was enough that you could see the small antennas on the model, and read the small print by the docking portal...

So yes planes of any kind good or not so great can take a while depending on how complex the model is or will be.

and most people think its so easy that anyone can do it, no its not...its a multi step process.

first you usually spend a good amount of time hand drawing what you want, eraseing it or starting over, making changes, etc, then you build the model, then have to test it, then add textures/colors, export and test again, fix any issues found during testing, reexport with the new changes/fixes, test again, fine tune any thing needed, retest, have private beta tests (optional part), then fix what ever they may have found, reexport and test after that then finialls put out public beta or what ever...and thats just part of it...it goes on more in depth, but thats just a basic summery....

Plus with the models of FSX and FS9 yes you can port models over from 9 (heck ive even gottem models from FSX to work in FSX already, but you will either A loose functionality (if porting from FSX to FS9) or you will not get full functioniality or capability from the model (or what ever) if your porting from FS9 to FSX, plus the sound files alone are a slight bit different, granted sounds will still work when porting from FS9 to FSX but the way the sounds are set up is a bit different.

so if you feel that some models arn't of the best quality (yes I know there are some that leave some things to be desired) and you want it done to your liking, why not pick up a copy of FSDS or GMAX or what ever and give it a try? its a rewarding experience once you figure the nitty gritty out Wink Ive done some models (granted most of mine just wind up getting recycled) but I also have been messin with repainting and other parts like the CFG and what not...you can learn alot Smiley
