THQ published SHOC, GSC Game World developed it.
GSC and THQ had a major falling out after SHOC due to patch cycles, as THQ kept screwing with them on patches, along with rushing SHOC and causing a ton of features to have to be removed. Some of those features were put back in in mods like Oblivion Lost and AMK.
In the end, if this were GSC, I'd trust it being a good game, however THQ would have a LOT to prove.
