it seems that recently, in the last week; EVERY time that I shut down IE8 and then reopen it, I have to log back in even though I have the login set to FOREVER!  that way as soon as I start up IE8, it will autologin on a tab so that I should not have to physically put my name in EVERY TIME along with the password.

has something changed on the SimV servers? or is there a setting that I am missing??

IE8 is NOT set to empty Temp Files when I close IE.

I have IE7 and no problems here. Allow cookies perhaps? When I delete cookies I have to log in to every thing again. Smiley

Following on from the above link....

At the moment, for me, its completely random, some Sites retain my Name and Password, others I have to type it in each time I visit, even tho' the request is to store them permanently
In the case of Sim V, I have to type my name and Password in each time I start my computer (in the mornings), from then on, throughout the rest of the day, the details remain stored, until I shut my computer down again.

All this used to be performed permanently at one time, now it is completely random, even tho' all Cookies, etc, are allowed, and not cleared out.

...most of it is performed by Magic!

Strange. I use the current version of Firefox & have never had this problem with this or other sites I'm a member of. Perhaps it's your firewall.

I had this exact same problem. First with IE7, then IE8, and finally Firefox.

No fix could be found by my searching, and AVG, Spybot, and Malware bytes, all said I was clean.

I gave up and reinstalled Windows, and IE8 & FF, and have not had the problem since.

If your IP changes for ANY reason, stored login data may be required to be validated by re-entering it. I've had this happen before, where my connection changed IP's every time I turned the system on.

Aside from these two bits, I wish you the best of luck.  I could only deal with it for a couple of months before I got mad and did the re-install. Cheesy

It may be a good idea to clear cache and Temp Internet files. That seems to resolve quite a few browser glitches.

Also have a look at settings under Tools\Options\Privacy ... There is a setting to delete cookies on closing browser. You don't want that -- also other possibilities in settings ....
