Saving Extended Bitmaps with Gimp (Read 488 times)

When saving textures as extended bitmaps, there are 9 options under save as type.

Which one should be used when saving?

It depends on for what sim you're repainting for...  and what format the original textures you're painting were created.

For FS-X, in *most* circumstances, you want to save as DDS, DXT5 format.

You DO NOT want to save as a 24-bit "regular" bitmap (*.bmp).

I've always saved as DXT3 - I have no idea why, in fact.
What are the differences between DXT3 and DXT5?
