We have our College Football and no NHL?
Season just started tonight and I know we have our NHL fans out there.
Well of course im stoked because the Avalanche just played a HELL of a game and DESTROYED those damn sharks!
Tired of everyone on my hockey team braggin about the sharks and guess what I can bring up next time.
Im pretty confident with the team this year with our new goalie Craig Anderson having a 2 goal night on 40 shots is pretty spectacular in my opinion from the sharks offense.
Avalanche start 1-0....are you scared truck..
Sincerely, Tyler

I hope the Avs get caught in an avalanche and cant play the rest of the season. I dislike them almost as much as the Raiders!

Yes the Florida Panthers and they won by the way
Well Avalanche move to 2-0. Craig Anderson gets first star AGAIN with a 35save shutout as we beat the Canucks. This season sure looks to be a good one!
IM sorry you feel that way Rob but I understand if you are a Wings fan. Truck is getting worried I know it.
I hate the Raiders as much as anyone...and when you live in the Bay Area you hate them EVEN more.

Didnt see that but the Sharks are really having problems with Nabokov lately...
He has a save % of 84 with 3.9 goals against !
I thought that Phily's comeback over the Caps was better...although Phily is looking good this year and so are the Caps!

Whew, Wings got their win, watching the Sharks play the BJ's now, pretty violent game, two fights in a row sofar, the second one was AWESOME!! The ref's actually let them duke it out, fairly uncommon for San Jose.
I would also like to welcome Brad May to the Red Wings, I think he will be turning out quite a few fights for us this season hehehe

I ended up watching that Minnesota comback it was quite nice they have a free preview of NHL center ice on comcast all this month. The avalanche lost a close one
first road game of the year...
We have a 2-1 lead which ended and then shortly after the predators tied it up they scored again.
I also saw Danny Heatley's Hat Trick ill give him props for that
, I just wish our new draft pick Matt Duchene could score he has so many good chances in the game, he sets people up so good, and hes shown some great moves just for a rookie 18 year old to be on the second line and he gets more time playing than our starting center Paul Stastny. Down the road I see this guy being a legend.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yJ1CunT8yOI
He puts on great moves just he hasnt put the puck in the net and its quite dissapointing with how good of a move he pulls off but cant finish it.

Close game in Detroit right now, turn it on if you get a chance!
The Franz is out for 4 months due to a torn ACL courtesy of Chicago
His replacement is doing fine though, so far he has scored the only goal against Washington this game... 1-1 after the first period.

Well I was wrong the Wings ended up pulling it out. Watched the first, and third period of the Avs game. A somewhat stressful game to watch, Patrick Kane was just flying by the Avs defense all night which was worrying me. In Overtime both the Avs and Blackhawks only got 1 shot off.
Ended in a 9 round shootout with the Avs lossing.
On the bright side we get a point for going into overtime.
Avs (2-1-1)

Avalanche beat the Bruins 4-3. Was a 2-0 game until the Avalanche blew it in the start of the 2nd period. Then the Avs rolled on to make it a 4-2 game and finished 4-3. I couldnt watch because im at school but I had been updating my phone alot.
Avalanche move to 3-1-1...1 point behind Calgary! Play Toronto tommrow and feeling pretty confident about that game since they are 0-3-1

Well the Avs of course killed the Maple Leafs 4-1.
Moving the Avs record to 4-1-1. Thankfully Calgary lost today (by the blue jackets
)moving Colorado into a tie fisrt.
The wings got MURDERED by the Sabres. Im feeling very confident when the Avs play them that they will win.
Avalanche v.s. Montreal on Thursday but we should win with Montreal being 2-3.

Yeah they did, I think they lost their groove, but then again, the year we won the Stanley cup we had a 7 game losing streak early in the season...so no worries yet.

Ill be bored to death to see either the Red Wings or the Penquins in the Stanley Cup AGAIN. And I dought it will happen...although the Wings team is very old. In 5 years from now I can see them not doing so well because there big stars are reaching retirement which is why they should start the process of younger players.
Youngest team in the NHL right now is the Blackhawks and they are good so they will be the team to beat for the next 5 years at this rate!

The Hawks are definitely a prospect, but the Wings aren't THAT old, remember we have Zetterburg for another twelve years, and with some good leadership we can mold a few strong rookies. We'll see what happens. Too early yet, and it's going to be a messed up season with the Olympics and all that.
I'm not predicting any Stanley Cup finalists yet, too early with too many rookies looking for their place on the ice, but I do see the Jackets and the Hawks going far, and the Avs seem to be holding their Division, and I think the Wings will pull through and at least make strong approach.
If the Wings aren't showing any signs of strength by mid December I'll start worrying...until then, there is a lot of hockey to be played.

True, it is to soon to say whos going to make the playoffs or not. Im happy with how the Avalanche team has started and hopefully this will continue we are scoring a very good amount of goals everygame and keeping goals from going in our net. The defense just allows to many shots on net which isnt good.
I hope the Avalanche can get 2nd in their division and a playoff spot.
Also the young star Matt Duchene is still goal-less
, im hoping he can score tommrow he's got some great moves for an 18 year old I see him doing very well in the future on the Avs

Yeah true, its pretty amazing that he's 18 playing on line 2
. I dont think we will be seeing any Crosby's or Ovechkins anytime soon it seems like they were the best rookies ive ever seen.

The problem with that is they hit "wonderboy" status, and now they have to live up to that expectation their entire career, and usually get expected to carry the team. I prefer a good solid team.
Nobody mentions Fleury on the Penguins...that kid is a wall, makes amazing saves, but everyone is drooling over Crosby and Malkin...it's Tebow in the NHL LOL.

OK. As long as the Red Wings play at home, we will win the Stanley Cup. I need to befriend the CEO of the NHL here on facebook and talk to him about maybe changing the schedule up a bit, say all Red Wings games are played in Detroit. I'll hoo...k him up with some cool stuff from Mafia Wars and Farmville...I think this will work....5-2 tonight against the Kings, and congrats to Lidstrom on his 1,000th point!!!!

Yes they are the Tebow of the NHL. Im not a big Crosby fan at all. Ovechkin on the otherhand deserves more he scored 110 points last year and yet I still hear more Crosby. Ovechkin has better moves, more points, and an overall better player.
Congrats to Lidstrom. Although Saturday will come a test for Detroit
.
Avs beat the Canadians 3-2 to move to 5-1-1 and now in solid first place in the division.
Avs vs Red Wings on Saturday. Watch out Truck

As a hockey fan I will agree that it does indeed look good for the Av's this year, so far they look solid...but as a Wing I can't say I give a shift.
If they smoke us Saturday, I will post praise for the Av's here even though it is against my religion. If they beat us by one or in overtime, you get nothing. If we whoop yer ass, stand by for some gloating, and everyone is invited to join in.
Like I said, I'll be fair, it's going to be a good matchup. I'm excited

Well, we came in strong, but the Av's turned it up, tied it up, then took us to a shoot out, and Ozzy just couldn't figure out his stick side. Well played Av's. Douche-Ain finally got his goal as well.
Just remember two of our better players were down for this game, I think if Franzen and Datsyuk were playing the results might have been different, but hey, the game's over and the results are in.
Was a very entertaining game!!! (pissed me off, but it wasn't boring)

DAmn it must have been 7ET. Well the Avalanche won!
Even with a close game like that we still get the win. Saw the highlights and the Avs really did comeback and the Wings really did blow it.
Cant blame the loss on your missing players
I mean last year we lost some valuable players due to injuries and ended up last and now the media doesnt even know who the Avs are just because of LAST year. The Avalanche GM was walking by when half the media was taking pictures the other half asked who is he?
Duchene good first goal, actually really good from a hard place to score. Craig Anderson pulled some AMAZING saves but most of the amazing saves have to go to Osgood as he robbed us quite a few times. We play the Red Wings next week in Colorado I believe and im more confident then I was
.
Avalanche 6-1-1, 2nd in the NHL

New ESPN Rankings out...
http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/powerranking
I love who does these rankings because they seem to not have a clue about hockey. Check out week 1 rankings
Avalanche were #30
I think they rank by records
Rangers got CRUSHED by the Sharks and I placed some bets with friends.

Our last road game from out 7 or 8 game road trip ends tommrow in Minnesota which should be an easy win!
Then we play the Wings again in Colorado!

Ummm...hehe...ummm...like I said before, it's too early to establish where the teams are going to go yet. Wings can smack the Wild up and lose to the Av's, then the Av's lose to the Wild.
Plus their win against the Wings was a shoot out. Might be a bit early for them power rankings

Its not like we got creamed or anything we lost in a shootout. Still get a point and im still confident no worries we still hold our position tied for 2nd in the NHL. You may be able to smack the Wild but you guys sure do get SMACKED by other teams.

Phoenix should NOT have been awarded that 2nd goal. Ozzy got pushed in with the puck. Yeah we got a point out of the game for holding a tie, but they would not have won if the officials were paying attention, even the sports announcers saw it.
We are not getting a good start this year, in all aspects
We can't even catch a break with the ref's.

Oops got it wrong the game was today.
Well Avalanche won 5-4 against Carolina. Kinda mad about letting Carolina score 4 goals but we get another win taking a alone second place
.
Also moving our record to 7-1-2 with a 3-0 home record now that our away skid is over
. Although im not sure that Colorado will be able to take first place because Pittsburgh is just KILLING everyone!!
9-1! Oh my!

Well Well Well Truck
Anything else to say...
Colorado wins a good battle 3-1.
Ill give all my props to Anderson who saved an amazing 47 shots! With Pitt lossing there game we should get 2 points for the win placing the Avalanche in first place tie with Pitt
.
Although I still think we need to limit the amount of shots we are letting the teams take Anderson is just doing amazing! He's got to be one of the hottest goaltenders in the league right now and for sure the most talked about because of how he just came off a backup job with this stunning performance. Last game we were sapose to start Budaj but he was sick
and thank goodness he was sick again tonight
.
Very Very Very happy with the Avalanche. 8-1-2.

Wow the NHL has had an aggressive week. Avs Darcy Tucker gets smashed from behind by Ruutu and he gets suspended for 3 games and Ruutu did apologize just for how dirty his hit was but he said he wont change his style of play as an "aggressive" player.
The more surprising part is Mike Richards hit on David Booth has to be one of the most surprising hits that I still dont understand why he didnt get suspended. It almost looked like Richards was trying to smash off Booths head.
Both players had concussions not sure how bad Booth's is but Tucker was placed on IR today for a week I think.
The new rankings are out by "ESPN" the
Worldwide
leader in sports who claims to know hockey. Well they dropped the Avalanche down 2 spots (even though we claim a tie for first place right now) because the guy who writes these rankings doesn't like the fact that the Avalanche are so high in the Rankings.
Its funny how people are so in denial just because of one season, I hear more people bash on the Avalanche more than the Rams!
And i'd love to bash on how bad the Rams are even though ima huge fan. I guess they will have to make the playoffs for someone to "believe" they are a decient team eh?
Now "ESPN" is questioning if this is the end for the Red Wings. I mean im telling you every day "ESPN" amazes me when it comes to hockey. Worldwide leader in sports
Just watch sportscenter and see how much they talk about hockey. I think they should just give it up. Soon they will make an article about something ridiculous like Toronto never getting a win.

I don't pay any attention to ESPN lol. NHL.com is the only site that matters to me when it comes to hockey
Is this the end of the Wings
We had a 7 game losing streak before going to the Semi Finals a few years ago. I don't think it's the end, but we sure as hell aren't going to sweep anyone

Welllll! I come back with more great news! Avs take first place...alone!
Avs shutout Oilers 3-0. Exciting to watch, as I did the whole game
I think I said earlyer about how Budaj was sapose to play like 3 games ago but couldnt because he was sick...well he has the swine flu. I was suprised. Other than that Wolski 2 goal night good for my fantasy team he had a breakaway on an empty net and the Oilers slashed him which was sapose to be a penatly shot but since it was empty net he got awarded the goal which I didnt know they could do but doesnt suprise me. Well Anderson got his 2nd shutout of the year!
Also the Avs finally outsot there opponent we had alot of shots tonight which is good!
Watching the Wings game was 2-1 then 2-2 then 2-3 then 3-3 all in the matter of 5 minutes.
Sincerely, Tyler

I wanted the Wings to win just so you wouldnt be pissed off more. Vancover rebounded from the start they had being shutout in there first two games which includes the Avalanche
.
The 3rd period was an intense one just pucks flying in the net everywhere.

Ah Avalache win again.
Best start in Franchise history 10-1-2.
There is so much confidence with the Avalanche now from when we started. Although the start had me scared after 1 minute and 10 seconds in the first period it was already 2-0, Avs tied it 2-2 by the end of the first then a great goal by Wolski
to get the lead and we get the win and take back first place as Pitt had just earlier tied up with us.
Although dissapointed by how many shots, I think it was like 13 shots I saw or something on net but good that we got in 3. We've got some injuries though another one tonight.
San Jose next! Wish I had tickets ill most likely go to the one in March.

Well you saw a good game. The Avs cant win them all just wish they didnt have to lose to the Sharks. Anderson is really showing the NHL who he is this year. I mean no dought a great goalie. He made some WONDERFUL saves tonight but what realllly really pissed me off is how slow the Avs seem to have been skating relative to other games. Didnt seem like we tried for shots and rebounds till the end of the 2nd period...
Im extremely pissed about how many shots we let the Sharks take. Like 48 or something? Thats why it doesnt suprise me they scored 3. The only players I mostly saw out there skating fast was Wolski and Duchene....Koci was pissing me off the whole game seemed like he was TRYING to get penalties, I would have rather seen him fight. Well cant wait to see your pics.
Anderson probably still the top goaltender in the league, even with those 3 goals against he had a .93 save %
, Glad Budaj wasnt in net.

Ahh, a site where there is a thread that I can actually have a nice discussion with people about hockey.
Avalanche surprised me a lot especially when they beat the Wings about a week ago. But again, the Wings are not gonna get far in the playoffs this year. They have lost Conklin, which was a great back up to Osgood. Howard just won't be great like he was in the AHL, like the old Joey McDonald. Hossa was great, and even though he didn't perform in the playoffs, he still was great. Bertuzzi is back, Sammy is gone to Vancouver, Eaves, who is decent, is now a Wing too.
Now, not to say that the Wings will not be a powerhouse this year, they are for sure not gonna make it past the 2nd round in the playoffs this year.

It's hard to say, the Wings can't seem to find a groove, although it was nice to see them finally shut a team out (Ozzy's 50th shut out by the way)
Powerhouse team...the Wings are not this year. We lost some hotshots last year and Conklin was great for the regulation season. However, we brought up some newish players and they're learning the ropes from the Wings veterans. A lot can change, it's a long season, who knows, maybe we'll slump out and finish under the Leafs
I'm enjoying the season so far though, some good teams to watch this year.
Watching the Jackets play the Sharks right now...go Jackets!!!

Yeah. I am very surprised we beat Calgary... that shocked me. But Calgary didn't look good. I think once the new guys step up more, we might have a better shot at things.

Great another wings fan...
Well Avalanche won with Budaj in net for the first time of the season. They were skating alot faster tonight and playing alot better than our last 2 losses. Played a tough Pheonix also which was good to win. Anderson was also named player of the month for October.
Loved watching the last few minutes they scored an empty net goal then about 10 seconds after Hejduk hada breakaway and scored again. Then with 3 seconds left Duchene made a fast approach at net but no time. They were trying to score more even with the win.
Well with San Jose win Avs droped to 3rd but now they are tied back with Pittsburg...in first...

Where did Phoenix come from...they were the joke last year, then GRETZKY quits as coach, and all of a sudden they are a challenge to beat....hmmmm
Go Maple Leafs!!! (seriously...I feel bad for them, canada hockey team and they can't seem to win...I gotta give them some support, they're a classic team....as long as the Wings beat them of course)

Well you can laugh at them now but they are doing better than the wings. I think its mostly from there goalie Ilya Brizgolaf he was named the 3rd star of the month last month also which is probably why they have 9 wins.
I would feel bad for the Maple Leafs but I feel worse for Carolina. I thought to that they would be a playoff contender maybe for cup if that but now on a 9 GAME LOSSING STREAK!
Thats the upset of the year!

Are all of the Thursday night games ACC?
Tonight's home team (E. Carolina) is Conference USA but Virginia Tech is ACC.
As far as I can recall every Thursday night game this year has involved an ACC team.

And we take the Sharks in the shoot out!!!!!! WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!! What a game, terrific coverage on both sides, great physical play, plenty of shots on both sides, and plenty of back and forth play, and plenty of OMG WTF moments
Can't believe we won, I thought for sure we were going to settle for one point as usual with our tie games, but Ozzy said no...Ozzy said no...NO!!!!

I took a bet with the Wings today on streak for cash so I too was rooting for the Wings. I didnt see the Sharks winning 7 in a row and the Wings seem to be playing stronger and they won a close one against the Sharks.
Avs-Blackhawks tommrow in Colorado...
Still strong the only team still undefeated at home 5-0

The Avs were really slackers against the Sharks and Canucks but we fixed for Pheonix which was alot better. Even our coach said before we got shutout by Canucks how bad they were slacking against the Sharks and they lost that game so I knew he would take action to get them back into fast shape like usual. Last game had 29 shots which is good since we allow like twice as many as we shoot
Not sure whos in net, Budaj was strong and good thing coming off the swine flu...but I think we will play Anderson, save Budaj for Edmonton next. Then back to playing the Blackhawks again.

Welll since last being in here the Avs beat the Blackhawks in SO which was a repeat of the first appearance against the Hawks except this time they won.
Then played Edmonton which I wished we would have put Budaj in net for but still played Anderson and got our asses handed to us when they scored I think 4/5 goals were PP goals which now puts the Avalanche in a PK problem just like they have last year.
More injuries, as Liles is out now Hejduk along side some others but still playing good hockey and Tucker might play tommrow against the Blackhawks. Im hoping to see them get a victory in regulation. I think they can pull it off but we are starting to put alot of pressure on our goalie as we expect him to be superman every night.
The Sharks are playing great now
and Pittsburg is sucking now..

Avs-Canucks tonight. Im feeling pretty confident, our team will come out playing strong tonight after a crap loss to Chicago. Hejduk is returning tonight also.
It is on national television CBC but...of course directv cut that channel along with versus!

Duck Hunt tonight!!!!!
"Zetter than yours" (Zetterburg) had a hat trick, free curly fries at Arby's tomorrow, just print off a copy of the score board on the Wings web site!!
This is the Wings team that we know. 7-4 tonight against the Ducks, very entertaining, was tied up for most of the second and third period, but the last 3 minutes of the games the Wings decided they wanted more than one point for their hard work, kicked it into high gear, and scored three more to spank the Ducks.

Gosh dammit. Im starting to get anooyed at how we are playing hockey. It seems we ALWAYS give up this lead in the first period and in the START! Agian start a 0-2 start in the first period within 5 minutes, now 4-0 at the end of the second. I mean hell its Vancover and of course the Avs are the only team that cant seem to shut them down.

Blowing a 4-2 lead, great job Colorado!
I love the defensive effort out there and how Budaj almost let every shot a rebound for Edmonton to score on. Its just great that our team cant skate liike we did in the first 10 games. We were so confident that now we cant even seem to play hockey.
Some good games out there tonight like Carolina coming back to win! Wow 3 seconds to tie the game and win in shootout!

No worries, they'll get the Presidents Trophy and fall out in the first round playoffs
As for the Wings...still haven't lost to Florida in regulation time in 13 years....but they got us in OT tonight...1 point in two games is NOT helping us...Chicago is poop hot these days and we're having a hard time catching them for Division. If we can just take them for Division I know we can go far, we aren't a crappy team this year, we're just plagued by injuries.
Carry on my wayward son....

Managed to grab a victory in a shootout tonight! I'll tell you what, the Habs were playing DIRTY in the first period, spent most of the period under a Red Wings power play, 5 on 3 twice due to some dirty hits.
Kronwall is out with a knee injury
We are playing on reserves from our farm team, missing about 8 of our veterans due to injuries, going to be a rough season for us, I'm not seeing a Stanley Cup appearance this year...hope we can recover. If Zetterburg and Datsyuk get hurt, we're done...

Ima bit pissed off with hockey lately. I watch almost every Avalanche game they have and last 2 games seeing them win by 2 and all my happiness crushed. We are currently 7GA and 0GF in the 3rd period in our last 2 games.
Joe Sacco needs to get this team back in check.
Sharks win...again...
...although I bet them to win so im sort of happy.

Well they are on a win streak of 6. We play them tommrow and I think we can snap it from them.
We played GREAT hockey yesterday on the exception of the THIRD PERIOD! We have now made our third period a problem that im starting to worry about more and more each game. In the last 3 games we are 9-0 in the third period. Not even a goal and averaging 3 goals against us in the third in three games is a big problem!
Still held off a good Flyers team and won 5-4. We needed a win!

Got shutout twice in a row..id be pissed. We always seem to blow our lead! Pissed off that we lost to Minnesota twice when those should be 2 easy wins!
Almost got Nashvilles streak to!
Not a good month compared to the first one the Avs had. We keep getting injuries like crazy! Like 3 games in a row! Just like last year we have these injury problems its pissing me off. I should look and see how many we actually have.

Wings had a good shoot out vs the Blues though. Bertuzzi, Pavel, and TJ Oshie all had nice tries. Oshie totally dangled Howard, but lost the puck, but Pavel and Todd went back hand top shelf on Mason and Mason had no chance. Bertuzzi got the winning shot too!

Anderson hada great night, 3rd shutout I believe with 33 saves and some WONDERFUL ones to, completely robbed Stamkos with 1 minute left.
My favorite Duchene got 2 goals!

Well it sucks when you stop watching a game cause your teams down by two with 58 seconds left then look at the score an hour later to see then scored 2 goals in 58 seconds and went into SO. Still lost though.
And not only did Keith Ballard takeout Vokoun HE TOOK OUT ANDERSON!
So where does that leave us against PITTSBURG! YEAH WITH A BACKUP!
And guess what.....
We lost 4-1! with 16 shots! Wow amazingly HORRIBLE. Allowing Penquins 33 shots on goal and last night an amazing like what 48 SHOTS on goal!
Serouisly we need better defense, we allow more than 30 shots usually every game!

OK Wings managed to take it in overtime, got that come back I was asking for lol. Oilers made a huge come back in their game as well
Down 3-2 in the third, they scored 3 goals in a row to secure a win
Correction, they were down 3-0 in the game itself, and scored 5 in a row to take the game. Great game to watch, very entertaining.

Well Anderson is back tonight. We let them get an early 1-0 lead and we scored a late 3rd period by Wolski in the third to tie it up.
Looks like were actually beating them in the shot catagory tonight which is a really good sign to see.

Well the Red Wings have decided to play hockey again haha, won two in a row in OT and now we are laying it on Phoenix, despite ANOTHER injury happening in the 1st period (Erickson took a knee to knee hit...ugh, and while he was laid out on the ice Phoenix managed to score...cheap!!!)
We brought up another rookie for this game, and he scored the first goal!!! Also got two penalties in 8 minutes haha, he cooled off for the second period though, he might be a starter next year if he keeps it up.
Meech also got one past the goalie, I see him being a full time player in the near future as well, he's pretty good for a back up.
3-1 in the 2nd period...very entertaining game tonight.

Looks like were both happy
Avs beat the Flames 3-2 to take the lead in the Conference and not only that we KILLED them in the shot category. Had to be our best game for shooting wise and not allowing that many shots either.
Still have a little injury problem we lose some of our good players but not for long amounts of time so I cant complain at least they come back soon. Hejduk is on DTD right now.
Looks like you got yourself a good rookie, all I can ever talk about is our two young talents Ryan O'Reilly and Matt Duchene but not to brag everyone else talks about them ALOT to when I watch the Avalanche games.
AND AND AND on the plus note the Sharks are on a 5 game lossing streak! To bad 3 of those losses were in OT or SO so they count as 3 points!
Big battle tommrow night Caps v.s. Avs
We can win if we play good defense and get GOOD shots on net.

Maybe it wasnt such a good close game
Avs score 4 in the first period, and win 5-2. Still doing GREAT with getting shots on goal now. We had another 30 shots and allowed 31.
Great game by Anderson, and Wolski. Also Hejduk is back playing, to bad he was injured so I benched him in fantasy when he got 3 points!

Updating the thread, even though only a few people check this thread hehe.
Wings...still not up to par, we need to pull Howard and put Ozzy back in. Then we need to get our injured back, we are playing with a rookie team now with all our vets on the disability list.
Chicago and San Jose are tearing it up. I see The Cup headed towards one of these teams.
32 games left for most teams, give or take 3 games. Playoff season starts in two months. Lots of hockey left, but it's time to start sweating.

We showed the Sharks they aren't all that, 4 un-answered goals for an NHL ass whoopin...then we play the Ducks and get out butt kicked...I really don't know anymore...we're tied for 7th right now as far as playoffs go, if we can hold on to that spot than awesome, at least we make an appearance in some playoff hockey...maybe we can crank it up for playoff season, but man...I gotta feeling we're going to get wiped quick.
Devils-Hawks is my prediction. Or Sharks-Devils....Thoughts?
We get the olympic break, things may change over the month, and I hope they do, I miss my dominating Wings...

You cant talk any smack anymore.
Im loving this year. All anyone ever talks about is the Avalanche and Matt Duchene (who is currently leading points as rookies by 7 points or so). The Avs just wooped the Oilers 3-0 with the 4TH SHUTOUT against the Oilers this year then just killed the Blues tonight 5-2 which puts us 3rd in the west now that we are tied for our division. Vancouver really stepped up.
The west is no doubt the hardest division, making it harder for teams like the Red Wings..unfortunately..
I do not think the Sharks will make the Cup neither do I think the Devils will. Blackhawks are my pick for the west, (but I have hope for my team
so currently I think the Avalanche have a shot). As far as the East, I believe the Caps have it this year. I also believe we may see Pittsburg pull out a good playoff run...again...I think they play best in pressure..
Realisticly...I think the cup will be Caps-Hawks
But im rooting for my team!

I honestly wanted to know who they were, sounds like a semi pro team.
Turns out they are in the ECHL, a mid-level professional ice hockey league based in Princeton, New Jersey, with teams scattered across the United States and Canada, generally regarded as a tier below the American Hockey League. *Wikipedia*

What a good game.
Avs got rid of Wolski...didnt like that...
but we got a young star Mueller, who in his first two games with us got a goal and an assist which is good start for him. We played Pheonix, 2 days after the trade, and guess who scred the game winning goal for the Coyotes...with 22 seconds left...our old left winger...WOLSKI..!
Why couldn't he score game winning goals for us!!!
Only AGAINST US!

I seriously don't think we're going to get a playoff slot. Babcock said he wouldn't play Ozzy, and in my opinion, that's his only hope. I kind of hope Babcock gets fired this year, so frustrating.

Killed Blues 7-3, then go into the Canucks looking good. After the first period its 3-0!!! I was so excited. After 2 periods it was 4-3, I was a little pissed. Final 6-4 Canucks!
TWICE in the last three games we BLEW a game with two minutes left.
Not acceptable!

Don't worry, we were tied with the Canucks too and got destroyed 6-3 by them last week. I think Canada has a roll going now, Flames managed to oust us tonight too, 4-2. I'm not even counting on a playoff spot at this point. Still praying though, miracle on ice...

I think in the end...Colorado could be the Northwest Division leaders...I dont think Vancouver will hold this good for the rest of the year.
I got my birthday present early...! Well part of it...got tickets to the Sharks vs. Avs game this year on March 28th!
Section 115, Row 6...
Thats smack in the center, 6 rows behind the penalty box!
Nice seats
I will probably make it to one or two more Shark games this season depending on the operational tempo at work. Sadly I won't make it to a Wings game this season
Oh well, at least we're still struggling to hold a playoff spot, better position than I thought we would be in...

We got a point, that's all I cared about. How about that game against Vancouver? 3/10 of a second left and we get the winning goal. THen we take out the "wonderboy" Crosby on Monday night bwahahahah. Guess the Wings do want to make the playoffs.
Oh and how about them Sharks, retiring a bit earlier this year, usually they play a few playoff games before they decide to crash and burn (5 losses in a row now)

....and another win tonight against the Blues (and against our former star goalie Ty Conklin...traitor)
We're getting close to playoff hockey...the Wings are starting to get in their groove again. Hope they keep it up, we got a good thing going right now.

Damn the west is a hard division. The Avalanche lose like 2 games in a row and we go from like 4th to 8th?

Im getting annoyed. You lose one game and you drop like 2 spots. Colorado's #8 seed and Detroit is #6? Thats BS.
Detroit's played like crap all year. Stupid western conference is like impossible to hold a #5 or #6 spot. If Colorado was in the Eastern we'd be like 3 or 4.
Sincerely, Tyler

It's all in the points man. Playoff season, you don't mess with Detroit. 5 game win streak...
Detroit hockey is back.

Once they lose a game and everyone else wins you'll be pissed to see them drop to 8th too.
Great game by the avs tonight. Awesome seats... but just came up short...because the Sharks got two CRAP goals off of legs. Both got reviewed too, none overturned though.
Sincerely, Tyler

Agreeed, before I would have practice sometime's the squirts would be playing a game and I would watch and SOME of those little dudes got some nice moves!...but the goalies suck
As for the Frozen Four..
I really wanna see RIT win, and rooting for Boston College...im a HUGE Boston College hockey fan.
So my championship picks are BC v.s RIT....BC wins the title.
