Those F86 pxs for CFS2 are looking good, Tango_Romeo.
Of course, you're being appraised by someone predominantly restricted to CFS1 8-bit formats.
In fact, it was F6F-44's signature that got my attention since I just finished an F6F3-22 texture update for my TF-14 mission in CFS1; the markings are somewhat fictitious but, with six different carriers, I thought it nice to know who's in the brawl with you rather than 50 exact clones.

Presently, the "Screamin' Eagle" tail fin is the only part of VF-5's (CV-10, USS Yorktown) texture that's mine.

VF-24 of Sept. - Oct., 1943, was an amalgum,
having a dozen of VF-22's fighters from the CVL-22, USS Independence
(swapped for the rest of VF-6 after the return to Pearl Harbor on Oct. 11)

I uploaded some pxs of VF-25 Moo Moo quite some time ago.
I believe part of VF-22 played upon the decks of the Mighty Moo at the time.
The town of Cowpens keeps an honorary gathering relative to the USS Cowpens;
I don't know if they've ever reenacted the revolutionary battle there for which the CVL-25 was named --
nor if they've refurbished/reconstructed the original cow pens for which the town was named.

The Fighting Nine of the USS Essex; I expect the logo was actually drawn up for the bomber/torpedo squadrons.
I thought it looked good to have the cat peering over the wing.
...

Obviously, since these all work in CFS1, they also work in CFS2.

Cool
