Whilst I don't agree with what he did (Crashing deliberately, not the aftermath) He should have shut it. And kept it shut.

The guy who does it, suggests it, and goes to Flavio and pat to suggest it, gets off scott free, Flavio agrees, gets a lifetime ban, symmond 5 years. And Renault get nothing more than a suspended ban. Typical FIA. I would feel awfully annoyed if I were Mclaren. They were in a simmilar position, only a couple knew but the team got smacked with a huge fine. Renault dont. Roll Eyes

If he hadn't been offered immunity would we have been any the wiser? No. Thankfully we've now got rid of one of the least desirable characters in F1 (who was running Bennetton at Australia in 1994 - I wonder if that was discussed pre race, should it be required?).

Piquet had a tough time in F1, and maybe this little saga has exposed that maybe it wasn't all his own doing - particularly after Alonso's experience at McLaren.

I'd be quite interested to see how he'd do next year in a new team. Smiley
