the beat goes on...the beat goes on.......yes, it's terribly frustrating to save up a couple of thousand to buy a good rig only to find it's not as good as you thought it would be, or it would be redundant in six months...alas, i'm in the same predicament...am about to splurge, and i'm a bit apprehensive to say the least Smiley

Ha! That's funny yancovitch, I have a set-up similar to yours, which I bought second-hand, hoping/thinking/praying that it would be able to run "It" with several tweaks and overclocks, but noooo!

My Q6600 at 3,7 Ghz - the 8800 GTS also clocked crazy, but my 4 x1 Gb DDR2 800 Mhz Ram is probably the bottleneck I guess Undecided

What do we do? Turn sliders to ½, or save some more dough?

It's a neverending nightmare Sad
