I've just installed Delblond Christian's Tortol.zip ("Terrance B.Lettsome International Airport of Tortola Island for FS2004") & see the wake of one cruise liner is in a long greyish oblong stuck out behind the ship.  Removing the texture just leaves a white shape.
I suspect I'm stuck with it unless someone can tell me what or if the remedy is.  I have tried removing the ship's bgl & both liners vanish of course.  I can't ask Mr Christian as he gives no email address.

Thanks,
TerryW

One way to address this is to repaint the texture.bmp 100% black.

Depending on the texture format you may be able to do this with MS Paint.

Can you double click on the texture and preview it or does it say "preview failed" or something to that affect?

If you need more help post back here.

Hope this helps,
Joe

That didn't work, let me try something different and I will update

Hello.  I can view it with Windows Photo Gallery.  How will painting it black help?   Would a blue colour be better assuming I can do it with MS Paint that is!!!?

IF you can remove the wake altogether (assuming it is not built into the model) then it would easy enough to add a far more realistic "animated" wake.

An illustrated tutorial describing how to do that is named weffect.zip. There is a very small update to that tutorial also.

I am not sure if the two files are in the library here.  If not, they are available at the "other" two major sites which I have been told I should not mention by name.

I just installed the scenery and it appears the wake cannot be "divorced" from the ship. That bad wake effect certainly detracts from an otherwise very nice piece of work.

I can easily remove the ship and replace it with another one with an "animated" wake if you are interested.

Just send me a regular e-mail with your address and I will work up the necessary files and some simple instructions.

My address is opaflightsimaddict at verizon dot net

Good morning Dave.   I'll email you.  We corresponded some time ago over Penticton helicopters & Flight1 HeliTraffic......
the wake is easily removed just by taking the wake texture out but an animated wake would be great  Cheesy

Terry.
