Around midnight on September 5, 2009 Empora Air Virtual went back online…The fully custom made website took over 2 months to construct from the ground up. Empora Chief Technology Officer Ian Philips developed the entire site on his own. A fully custom made PIREP, news, weather, ACARS, and other systems were authored by Mr. Philips. The site had not even been made public yet and the roster already had 35 pilots and PIREP's already flowing in. We thank Ian with great admiration and respect for his work and we look forward to bright future for Empora.
Some features will not be accessible for at least the next few weeks, EmporACARS™ (ACARS), chart/flight plan generators, and a few other features that are not being discussed with the public. Also the statistics and route map sections of the website have not been made public yet, as a few more features are being added to them. Please note the site works with
FIREFOX only, and will
not be made functional for Internet Explorer.
Coming in the next 3 months:-EmporACARS
-777-200LR enters service
-First Asian services
-Additional website features
The new website represents the qualities of Empora, our contemporary view of virtual aviation, yet keeping in mind the “glory days of virtual airlines and respect for the roots of the community." The website's design was inspired by both modernity and the advancement VA's have made but is easy to use and caters to both new and veteran pilots. The pilot center will especially make the veteran pilot feel accommodated. The layout of the center was inspired by some of the older VA's that care more about technology than ascetics.
LuxServ by Empora has officially opened today as well. LuxServ is a low cost subsidy of Empora Air based out of Milan Malpensa Airport. This branch operates A320 aircraft in an “economy plus" seating configuration. The Italian travel market is at an uncertain place as Italian airlines are shrinking or vanishing. Italy is a major country and the home of Art and luxury goods. Many great artists and curators of luxury have come from Italy, from Leonardo da Vinci to Giorgio Armani to Raphael to Nazareno Fonticoli. LuxServ is operated out of terminal 1-B at Malpensa Airport. Even though terminal 1-B is mostly international flights, it allows Empora passengers to make European connections with LuxServ. The subsidy serves cities throughout Italy, Europe, Russia and northern Africa. All Empora pilots are able to fly LuxServ flights. LuxServ is only a marketing name for low-cost flights operated by Empora Air. The subsidy does have its own CEO and COO that report to the Empora Air senior staff and board of directors.

Statement from founder, Paul Marcus
“Dear Community,
I have had the honor to serve as CEO and President of Empora Air for the past 2 years. I have enjoyed the challenges and fun of being the CEO of a virtual airline and have tried my best to deliver a unique experience to the community. Over the past 2 months Empora has been offline to non-members/public, I have done a lot of thinking about Empora's and my state in the community. Empora was very close to shutting down; we have been in troubled times for a while now and finally with this new site we have reached the light at the end of the tunnel. I want Empora to be the zeitgeist for today's virtual airline. I, my 8 fellow staff members and board of directors are working as hard as we can to make Empora a wonderful and most enjoyable experience for all virtual pilots. The new Empora is welcoming to ALL types of pilots regardless how much experience they have. We hope pilots will challenge themselves to new aircraft, airports and flights. Our forum will be a center for our Empora family to communicate and share thoughts and discussion on almost anything. I would like to express extreme gratitude to Ian Philips our CTO; he has done an amazing job and has many great things lined up for Empora. I would like to wish Jordan Clarke CEO and Luke Bateson COO of LuxServ by Empora the very best with this new subsidy! I would also like to thank Clayton Locher for his time with us this summer and the rest the Empora executive staff, Quinn Rogness, Ian Philips, Alec Francen, Lewis Fielder, Max vanOverdijk, and Manny Lopez.
I hope you all enjoy the new Empora. Thank you,
Paul Marcus"Please be aware we have changed our polices/rules/regulations, and we ask you to refer to this PDF document for more information on how we operate: http://emporavirtual.com/policy.pdf
