I've never bought any PMDG aircraft... how do they run? Are they very resource demanding? Similar to Captain Sim 757/767 in performance?

The only PMDG aircraft that I owned was the Beech 1900C for FS2004. Frames seemed fine on it.
Just browse various forums where this new Jetstream is mentioned after release to see what people say about the frames. Just because a company's previous models had good or bad frame rates does not guarantee anything on a new model.

I bought it tonight, for $45 (US)

Here's my thoughts -

I can't start it.  I'm either stupid, or the instructions suck.

Jaggies.  This bird has jaggies.  Maybe a higher end system can straighten them out, but I usually don't have a jaggie issue and this bird has them.

The prop texture sucks, they don't spin, they just blur left and right.

POSITIVE NOTES -

She sounds good, not as good as some, but it is custom sounds.  I love realistic sounds in flightsim.

The VC looks great, just need to figure out how everything works.  I'm not a pilot, and this bird has lots of buttons to push, so I'm learning.

Stable flight.  If you can start it.

I have to start the flight with it already running, otherwise I spend 20 minutes firing the engines up, only to result in an engine fire (yes they flame out and start on fire)

It's very realistic as far as preflight and startup procedures go.  Once I learn how to use this bird I will post a better review.  But for now, as a novice, it's kicking my ass, and there are a few visual effects that could use some attention.

Just bought it as well Truck. Absolutely love it. And I can successfully start it. Tongue

Haven't experienced any jaggies and the prop textures look perfectly fine to me. Love the geared turboprop, which is a handful and requires care when operating, also expect a steep learning curve. VC is one of the best I've seen. The manual is very detailed/helpful. And a very realistic FMS. Very highly recommended, if your system can run it. Smiley

Just rubbing it in. Tongue

Check out this video. If that doesn't help then I'll whip something up for you. Wink

I'm knuckling down trying to program the FMS. By the way, install the 'Beige' main panel via the Configuration Manager, looks much nicer. Cool

It depends on what plane you get.

The Beech 1900C/D have almost no impact on the frames.

The 737 is heavier, and the 747 is very heavy.

They're improving now though, the md-11 in my experience had much better performance over the 747, but still did slow down occasionally.

I think the new Jetstream is better than the Md-11 in performance.

I don't know how any of these compare to the Captain Sim, as a guess I would say favorably because the CS C-130 ran terrible on my rig and most posts seem to indicate the PMDG MD-11 was better on the frames...

Glad you figured it out mate. Now, what issues are you having with the prop textures?
