Got a few spare minutes? Insomnia sure to keep you up?
Something like this hasn't happened here in a while...
How about everyone who currently uses MSFS try to jump online this weekend, even for a few short minutes and enjoy a quick flight with your SimV chums?
Non stop online company in the skies! Weekends are usually the best time to find people on, so lets take it a step further.
You'll probably be on the forum anyway, so if you have to sit there staring at the screen, you may as well come on and join us.
Hope to see a lot of you on this weekend.

I'll try to get on whenever I have time this weekend... Probably late night on Saturday and after 5pm on Sunday
Sounds like a good idea though... Maybe after people see how fun it is to fly online, they'll get on multiplayer more often

Shane,
The PROBLEM with this one..... is that a single person who does not understand setting up for multiplayer will prevent others from logging on or cause them to get booted off the server.
So if you are someone who is reading this for maybe the first time....... and you don't KNOW about how to set your PORTS up correctly..... PLEASE see the stickies a the top of this forum section BEFORE joining a session on the server.

Good point John.
Setting ports is about as easy as it gets, and everything you need to know to get online is laid out in the stickies.
And failing that, we're always here to help.
Fozz- I generalized MSFS hoping all versions with multiplayer would show up.
I know that FS2002/FS2004/ & FSX are all able to fly together on our server with no problem.

I'll see if I can get some time to get on flying this weekend. I haven't fired up the simpit since I left for the summer in Japan over a couple of months ago.
I should be good and rusty at flying. So if you see me online..... keep well clear. And let's have the crash trucks ready at the landing runways.

We discussed this yesterday online, it happend to multiple people.
It is most likely the port problem. Unfortunately, there seems to be a good deal of variables making this a difficult to figure out problem.
If you are not able to log on, please take note of who is online and post it here, and maybe we can narrow it down to who we need to help with ports.
I never had a problem logging on or staying on, regardless of who was on, or how many, or what sim they were using. Maybe it's me?

I'll try to hop on sometime around 4pm US Eastern.
Just purchased Carenado's brilliant PA-34 Seneca for FSX, so I'll be flying with that! Not sure what location yet.
EDIT: I'll say 4:30pm at this point. Will be flying the Carenado Seneca. Location: Either Tasmania or Florida Keys area.

I keep a careful watch on the Processor and GPU temperatures, and monitoring them. Lots of air circulating fans, and heat sinks well bedded down.
My Hard drive is getting a bit overcrowded now, and what seems to happen sometimes is; if I am quietly running a program, and suddenly call up another program to run alongside it, the system gets confused with all the Multitasking going on, and gives up the Ghost!...
...!
Regular "de-fragging" the HDD to clean up the system doesn't seem to make much difference.
It doesn't happen very often, but when it does, its always at the most inopportune times, (Multiplayer Sessions!)....
...!

Multitasking: Brushing the teeth, making a cup of Coffee, and Shaving at the same time.

Fozzer,
Maybe you have run out of room for the swap file on the HD and when long flying sessions...... the graphics load runs out of places to swap out the files?

Got online tonight for a couple of hours. Did a circuit at KBOS to test out my flying a bit and then did an IFR hop from RJAA (Narita) to RJBB (Kansai) in Japan as JAL 651.
First time I have flown in about 3-4 MONTHS! Really needed the checklist to start up the simpit
. Amazing how much you forget in that short timeframe.
However, I managed to do two visual approach landings without killing anyone.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep up regular flying now for a while.
best,

There were about 4-5 others flying around the SimV world too when I was on.
