anyone can help me perhaps? I've installed some freeware grass and ground textures , but they look awfull. not even near standard. even the defaults look better. Does someone knows about any freeware airport / grass / tarmac textures that is worth trying? otherwise i have to reinstall the defaults. and if I need to reinstall the defaults, how do i do that?   Undecided    Undecided   Cry

Tip #1:

Always save your Default Scenery, Textures, etc, or anything else, to a spare Folder, before installing any replacements!

You now have the added problem of trying to find them on the FS Installation Disks... Cry...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004... Wink...!

I have replacement Grass Textures installed...and... the Default Textures saved safely in a spare Folder!...Wink...!

P.S. ...remember, you wont see anything that looks like "Real Grass" in FS 2004 Ground Textures..Wink...!

.... Grin...!

...best of luck!... Wink...!

Unfortunately, I doubt that "Real Grass" general Textures have been produced for FS 2004, only a "blurry" simulation of "Grass".... Cry...!

Blades of grass can be observed sometimes in designed, add-on Scenery, covering a small area, but not for the Whole World.

Paul....G-BPLF... Cool...!

I remember when requests were coming in for the "new features" before the FSX release, I suggested "Real Grass"...with blades of grass waving in the wind!... Roll Eyes...

...silly me!... Cry..!

...but having seen all the various "Frame Rate" problems with the finished product ever since, its just as well it wasn't implemented!... Shocked...!

... Grin...!

Paul...G-BPLF...FS 2004...(and FSX)... Wink...!

NOTE: This texture is NOT a part of Real Environment Pro, the grass is a separate download.

I just emailed you Shane. Which one did you get---Grass or Grass II?

Can you walk through the installation steps for FS9?

Steve

I used Grass I,

Go to your: FS9/Scenery/World/Texture folder,

back up the texture file-detail1.bmp, and then drop the one you downloaded in and overwrite.

also a thing to watch out when installing these is to make sure that you put the 1024x1024 texture in the folder and not the 4096x4096 one as FS9 will not work with that one Wink
